REWARDS IN HEAVEN. Somehow that seems wrong to me. Surely heaven is enough reward and besides, if all sin is regarded as the same and deserving of hell, how can good deeds then be rated on a scale, and rewarded accordingly, yet Matthew 6:1 says “Watch out! Don’t do your good deeds publicly, to be admired by others, FOR YOU WILL LOSE THE REWARD from your Father in heaven. 

A FEW QUESTIONS, LORD.  Does that mean I make no plans for tomorrow? That I just live from day to day? Does it mean that I just don’t care about planning for the future? Just concern myself with what happens today?

Matthew 6 - Part 5 – A DIET THAT REALLY WORKS! (2010) 

Jesus taught His disciples some principles of prayer on the mountain. The Lord’s Prayer, as we call it should more appropriately be called “The Disciples Prayer”. There are some great principles for “spending time on your knees” in this prayer. It’s not so much the words to pray that are important in this prayer. It’s the “how to pray” principles that are the important part. This isn’t just a prayer that I am to simply learn by rote.

Jesus said, "Don’t misunderstand why I have come. I did not come to abolish the law of Moses or the writings of the prophets. No, I came to accomplish their purpose."

Genesis 50:22-26 – PROMISE OF A FUTURE AND A HOPE 

Warren Wiersbe writes “... This reminds us of what happened on the cross. ...Out of the greatest sin ever committed by humankind, God brought the greatest blessing that ever came to humankind.” Salvation came through Christ dying for our sins.

Past sins have a way of wreaking havoc in our lives, if we let them. We continually think of how we have failed others and failed the Lord, even after receiving forgiveness.

In Genesis 50:4-13 we find a story about the state funeral of Jacob. However, there are some basic principles here that go beyond a funeral service and burial. I have placed the following in a prayer.
