Gravity-fed brewing
After speaking and confirming with Emilio about it, I saw this setup that <can> be pretty cheap tools-wise. It is a lot of work but a potential inspiration for our setup!
Basically, the idea is to get regular beer kegs like those above and use it like a pot to steap and mash the beer. To do this we can cut the keg top to make it like a pot. It is more accessible only if you can get access to such kegs, though, as they can be a bit expensive in Spain (suppliers pay to bars to get them back). Here is a link that explains a bit about this gravity-fed brewing (read from “Our brew setup” onwards): Thanks Emilio for spreading your passion for beers with us :).

Beer making tutorial
This is the whole instruction written by Emilio Dahl Herce for the DIY Beer Making workshop. We will try it tomorrow.
DIY Beer Making Workshop from Emilio Dahl Herce
Emilio Dahl Herce, a local beer maker in Madrid, Spain, visited Media Lab Prado to give a workshop on DIY beer making in Conveniencely Yours project of Interactivos?16. Moncho introduced Emilio with Andreas a week ago to have some discussions on the possibility with DIY Beer Making using available materials in the local stores near Medialab. Due to the busy schedule of Emilio, we couldn’t arranged the workshop to held earlier in the project, but today after several arrangements, Emilio had the time to not only giving workshop, but also accompany us to find some tools and materials for making our beer during the open lab workshop in Interactivos?16.
During the workshop, Emilio gave a detailed information on DIY beer making and how the process could be done in your own kitchen. The process is actually quite easy, however what made us worry more is the fermentation process that normally took 7-8 days for the beer is ready for consumption. After doing the workshop and help us pick up on the tools and materials, we are preparing for the beer making tomorrow. Gracias Emilio!!
We bought our 5 “lucky charm” cats :))).Â
Autan, Mosquito Repellant Skin Lotion
PCB making with tone transfer method never been easier with this lotion. A certain brand of Mosquito Repellant Skin Lotion called Autan can be used to help the ink of the laser from the paper to stick to the blank copper.
Cajeput Oil
Other than for curing irritation on your skin, Cajeput oil is also useful to cleaning plastic and able to erase permanent ink.

Retr0brite
If you love your vintage electronics, most of you will find that the plastic cover will get yellow over time. I found some simple tutorials to get the plastic back to white colour again by using Hydrogen Peroxide (H2O2) which is easily can be found in many hair colouring products. The tricky part is to get the H2O2 that’s in form of a gel instead of liquid. Gel can be easily applied and stick to the plastic of your electronics.Â
Step by step instructions:
Open the instrument and separate the electronics with the casing
Apply equally the H2O2 on the casing
Cover the casing with plastic food wrap (can be easily found in convenience store), make sure it closes as much as possible
Put it outdoor to get the ultraviolet light from the sun and leave it as long as possible
Repeat the steps to get better result.
