Happy Monday!! The theme for #sewsustainablefabric Week 2 is using what you have 🖤 Not buying new things that you don't need is a good guideline for areas of life, and us seamstresses have a special sin of fabric hoarding 🤐 At the start of 2020 I made a pact with myself not to buy any new fabric for at least 3 months, and only to sew my leftover pile. I kept at it for over 4 months, at which point I started working on my label and needed to source materials.. these are just a few of my scrap fabric top projects - when you have limited material it really makes you think of how you can maximize the use and minimize waste, a philosophy that I apply to all my sewing. (Tutorials for 1 & 2 on my blog under Tops) I really hope this theme encourages the sewing community to focus on what you have in your stash, linen closet (your friend's linen closet😏) and also to re-make some old RTW or selfmade pieces that aren't getting the wear they deserve! #sewing #makers #selfdrafted #selfmade #nopattern #sewistsofinstagram #selfmadewardrobe #imadethis #lovesewing #sewyourselfsustainable https://www.instagram.com/p/CE1CAUoAOAD/?igshid=l50tutc2bg1g
