I keep getting ads for AI story banks. The ads show off a hot new romance, crime thriller, fantasy, what have you with slop visuals and out of curiosity ive been watching them.

I know that this is not an uncommon opinion, but as a writer, I cannot stand people who are genuinely entertained by the narratives that AI creates. Why? Because it can only write one story.

Ai can only write protagonist who can do no wrong in a world of assholes. There are times where AI attempts to write a quote "flawed" character, and in doing so makes them an asshole but removes consequences. In my personal experience, ai models treat consequences as threats rather than actual consequences. The threat of consequences are always somehow brushed aside, or have no impact if they do.

Protagonists in AI stories always have to be riteous. Their cause is relatable to a nauseating point. Family betrayals, emasculation, bullying, dead parents etc etc. Then the hero gets some sort of edge inherited by their birthright, or by some special physical trait. Then everyone learns the error of their ways and worship Mr or Mrs Caucasian Mc Protagonist like the gods they always were.

Fuck AI advertisements and if you enjoy the water guzzling narrative thrashing of an LLM over a flesh and blood human I genuinely respect you less
