Constant Terribleness

As I made my first excursion from the safety of the ship, I noticed hundreds of small flowers whose fruits bore a striking resemblance to strawberries. Still, I trusted my caution, and gave one fruit a slight prod with a stick. Immediately the creature seized the twig with its tentacles and held it to the seemingly acidic jelly surrounding its fruit-like body. Upon realizing the intruder was inedible, it swiftly pulsed away, expelling thousands of tiny spores in its wake. My respirator’s alarm sounded, signaling poisonous gas in the air.

I will take another walk tomorrow, if only to escape the loneliness of the ship for a few hours. The S.O.S. beacon is still functional, I check it compulsively every half hour. A bit of good news: I was able to repair the display for the fuel tanks, and tank four is showing 78% full. If I can manage to repair the engine, I could feasibly reach orbiting distance to the planet.
