Constance Eades She / her
"Justice is my middle name… No really, it is—why are you laughing?"
SPECIES: Human (Non-Powered) OCCUPATION: Private Archivist AGE: 28 Years Old PLAYED BY: Alyssa FC: Courtney Eaton
BIOGRAPHY:
Humanity has always claimed dominion over what it barely understands—calling themselves saviors while destroying what they cannot control.
For generations, a family intertwined itself with the supernatural. Whether it got its start as humans lending a hand to help those ostracized, or if supernaturals built a community to make existing among humankind a little easier, the origins are unclear. Yet the family built its roots with the motto: Servare, non dominari. To preserve, not to rule.
The family sought no power, prestige, or recognition—it simply wanted to be a family for those who had none. The supernaturals who found their way into the family wanted nothing more than to exist in peace and the humans in the family did their best to protect their hidden brethren. Public facing, people trusted the Eades—they were people of character and morals. Hardly did any flashy work, but they were honest. Their work took them wherever myth was found. But no matter where they went, protection came first. Supernaturals entrusted them with their safety.
Constance grew up understanding the value of every single existence. You don’t blame the lion any more than you do the gazelle. You also don’t strip supernatural beings of their own complicated humanity. It was easy to feel like she and her family were the righters of the wrong. They were proof of the possibility of coexistence should mankind ever wish for it.
Her immediate family consisted of six siblings, however she was the only one who had a blood relation to her father and his first wife, the rest were young supernatural beings who wanted a home, a family. The responsibility of her family was instilled in her from a very young age and she took it seriously. She had a temper that flared at the first sign of injustice and hypocrisy. It led to challenges in authority, whether to instructors or her own parents—no one was safe.
Time never tempered it, so instead they showed her how to aim it. Literally. With a child that was quick to burn, they gave her the challenge of aim. It began with archery, she had to learn patience, precision over force. Restraint. Then—marksmanship. It was here she learned accountability. It wasn’t just point and aim and shoot. Every shot had an outcome. It was a choice all her own.
Mistaken for nothing more than a privileged name and a pretty face, she was a human who helped protect multiple supernatural species—many that would never thank her or know her name. She helped get them out of the country, change their name, place bureaucratic barriers in between them and hunters to keep them safe. It would keep them safe until it didn’t. Until, it reached the family.
Their family was caught off guard by hunters at a local preservation site. The hunters had posed as researchers, who simply wanted to study the land’s wildlife—but began to disturb the local supernatural communities. Those communities tried to defend their homes, but they were no match. Many were killed, their bodies desecrated, their parts collected as if they were no more than trophies or livestock. For the first time, Constance saw the limits of her family’s preservation. Her temper was set ablaze that night.
She chose to send a message within the hunter network. That she was coming. The ones she could find she killed and left them to be found. Her family never encouraged her violence and they worried about the family’s safety if she stayed. Constance understood, the last thing she wanted was to put her family in bigger danger.
A call from her great uncle’s business in America was Constance’s way out. Apparently her uncle had been missing for “too” long and they needed help. The family knew better. Their uncle would return but until then it would be Constance’s duty to clean up. And she did not realize just how much of a mess her uncle had left.
