You think Daenerys is gonna die, at the end, but who do YOU think is gonna end up on the throne. And what about the dragons without Targaryens? Other Houses want them dead.
Oh, I’m assuming the dragons are dying as well. Other houses are not aware of them just yet, but they will soon enough (and we still have to discover the damage they’ll do in Westeros, how many innocent people will die) –and I can’t blame them if they’d want them dead, I probably would as well. Let’s face it, they are huge killing machine, I think joannalannister once called them the Westerosi equivalent of a nuclear bomb, and I agree: of course, now they are controlled by Daenerys, who is a good person, and not even she has been able to spare innocents from them. But she’ll die before them no matter what (the life span of dragons is really long), who could get their hands on them after she and the other dragonriders die? They also completely unbalance the power dynamics, and give whomever is controlling them an unfair advantage. I think that they are part of this prophecy of the Prince(ss) that was Promised/Azor Ahai, and that their main purpose might be linked to the war against the White Walkers.
As for the Iron Throne, I think it will dissappear as well, and Westeros will dissolve into seven (eight, actually) kingdoms once again (which is suitable: the Iron Throne dying at the same time as Targaryen dynasty). This is, obviously, my headcanon, and nothing else!
(Just to be clear: I don’t want Dany to die, I want her to find a home at last, to settle down, to be happy. I just think it won’t happen, as much as I hate it.)
