Spicy Boy’s fins have like almost doubled in length since I got him. Idk how I feel about it tbh. I mean he doesn’t bite them and he has never had them rip or get fin rot but I hope they are done growing. The person I bought him from didn’t say he was a rosetail or feathertail nothing like that, but damn he has some long fins. I’m gonna expect issues when he gets old tho. 😕
But for now he is my little red fairy fish. 🐠❤️

It's been over a year since I last took a betta home. When I started school I took a break from fishkeeping, since I was feeling really overwhelmed. Then I came home the other day to find my boyfriend, Dan had set up a ten gallon, ready for a betta. :)
Nightcrawler is our new baby, he's a halfmoon and really gorgeous when his fins are spread out. But he's very shy and very fast so getting pics has been a challenge. I'll get him soon enough though.
So I am back to betta keeping, and I have to say I've really missed these crabby little fish <3

Mr. Toothless when I first brought him home (poor baby looked so miserable) and then again after a bunch of research and oodles of spending (and also like 5 months). He sure won’t win any awards (obviously he’s been having some fin rot issues and one of his ventral fins grew in seriously bent for some reason) but he’s still my handsome boy.

Hnnng, Keene, you’re so beautiful…! I can never get over it, and I absolutely love how tranquil the setup makes the living room.
You can see the tear in his caudal from his adventures stuck behind the driftwood just a couple of days ago. Fortunately, it’s a clean tear and doesn’t show any sign of infection. Looks like he’s missing a scale of his gill plate, though, but not seeing any cause for alarm there either.
Oh, and we’ve had him for five weeks already. :) Didn’t realize how much time had passed.
Meet Valentino!! I adopted him from a friend a couple weeks ago. He used to live in a bowl, and now he has a cozy 3 gallons all to himself! Val may have an Agent K smile (he’s known for being a little grumpy), but he’s been settling in pretty well and eats happily when not scoping out the sand and chilling on leaves. 10/10 fish
