She laughed and shook her head. She could feel the magic in it. She felt like she was about to cry. She was going to miss these guys. She would poke fun and say there’s nothing stopping Ardan from coming with her and being a saint, but she knew his heart was set on staying here, just like her heart was set on leaving. She bowed her head so her bangs would hide her tears.

Fai took the chance to go ahead and take the fish for herself, heating it in the fireplace while Ardan was waxing lyrical.
