Master Splinter tended to Donnie’s wounds and somehow Leo managed to rope Raph into letting him take care of his.

Raph got the most injured through Donnie's rescue mission – with the exception of Donnie, of course. Well... it's not like Donnie got injured during the rescue itself.

They have been very, very careful with him ever since they saw him lying ther in this- this- this cage those guys threw him in! He was bleeding and mangled and hurt and unconscious – and- and he looked dead.

They would have been damned if they didn't pick up his body and get him home as carefully and gently as possible.

Mikey still wasn't sure if they didn't worsen any of his inuries regardless.

He himself was barely injured. A few scraps, a few cuts, a few bruises – nothing a bit of ointment and a few band-aids can't fix. He applied it himself, as everyone else was busy, and he was the first one done.

So, he stared at his unconscious brother. The blood seemed to become more and more by the minute; white bandages turned red.

His skin looked weird, burned maybe? But that's not how they looked when they got burned. It looked similar though.

His shoulders weren't normal. Mikey didn't know what was wrong with them, but they were not okay.

His feet were broken – not his legs, his feet. Normally that would have been something that would have flown under the radar for longer. But this fracture wasn't just a "one of the many, many bones of the foot got cracked a bit" this was- his feet were shattered. Like someone smashed them with a hamer a couple of times.

It was a cruel reminder of where this came from. If he had seen the other injuries without context, he would have thought it was a fight gone wrong – terribly wrong. Some of the injuries could have even been a lab accident.

But this? This didn't come from a simply fight. This came from torture.

From someone – a lot of someones – luring out one of them, kidnapping him without a fight to then torture him.

Mikey was the kind of turtle who believed people could change, and when they do they can and should be forgiven. But if those monsters that did that to his brother suddenly turn over a new leaf and never ever hurt even a fly, Mikey would still hunt them down. He itched to do so.

He didn't move though. Just sat there. And started at his tortured brother.

"Mikey", Leo's voice called out softly. "It's okay, he's okay. He's safe now"

The youngest managed a non-commiting sound.

"He's gonna be alright", his brother tried again. "He's gonna be back blowing his lab into pieces before you know it"

This time he didn't react at all.

Something ligthly hit him in his right biceps. After a second, Mikey managed to tear his eyes away from Donnie and to his right.

"Hey, how about you go to the living room?", Raph offered him a small, encouraging smile. "Throw in a movie or something? We'll be right behind you, okay?"

Mikey didn't want to leave Donnie. He wanted to stay here with his brothers until Donnie woke up, until Donnie was all okay again, until Donnie was throwing him out of his lab because he annoyed him too much. Not that Mikey was ever going to annoy his brother again.

Slowly, Mikey got up. He didn't want to leave, but his legs had another idea and just carried him outside.

What was he doing there? Why was he in the living room? Why wasn't he with Donnie?

His gaze landed on the TV.

Right... Raph wanted him to turn on a movie.

Like a ghost he went to the couch and sat down on it. Something about it was very uncomfortable.

He reached down to find there was something hard he was sitting on. He pulled it out from under him and stared at it without really understanding what it was.

Their game console.

Why was it on the couch? Right, they wanted to play that new game before Splinter stopped them. He said they have been lazy that day, and maybe they have. They should first do something and only then they could play. They decided to go out patrol and ran out so fast they just tossed it on the couch. That had been when-

They had been so sloppy! They hadn't noticed when Donnie slipped away. And when they did notice he wasn't there anymore they hadn't taken it serious. They thought they'd give him another minute and he'd be back. He hadn't been.

Leo got a call and Raph just groaned in annoyance. Mikey was annoyed too. He thought it would just mean they had to go after Donnie to discover together that what he'd seen was nothing. He thought it would just delay them playing even further.

After a minute of Leo pressing buttons on his TPhone, Raph took over and after anouther half a minute, they realized none of them could track Donnie.

Mikey's only thought at that was that Donnie was going to explain it to them again and how annoying that would be. The youngest was good at remembering certain stuff. But that somehow wasn't part of it. He hoped that Donnie would wait with that until after they got their chance to play.

Since they wouldn't be able to get after him, Donnie had to find them. To tell him that, Leo called him. Except he didn't answer.

Thinking back to it, it infuriated him how long it took for them to get their thoughts off of the game and to their brother. The brother that got kidnapped and tortured because of that.

Mikey wanted to slam the console on the floor.

Instead, he pressed the on botton.

He stared and the screen for a bit, before he pressed start and played the game.

It was fun. It really was a very good game. Under other circumstances, it might have become their favorite game.

Most turtle have a :} face, which is awsome and amazing, and I love it when you can actually seen, but you know how some other turtles, like the yellow-dotted river turtle or the african sideneck look like?

There's also the thing that some turtles have very long necks, but I don't know 100% what to do with that

Some turtles' necks are protected by their shells

Some not

With a more humanoid appearance, the prior might be annoying, as he can't turn up his head as much.

On the other hand, imagine a situation like with the kraang mind control device, that had to be put in the back of the neck of its victims.

Enemies: HAHA we have already full control over three of the turtles! Only one remains! *turns to the remaining turtle who has a protective lair of keratin over the back of their neck* Fuck

Their backbags could be a little different, depending on how their shells look. Which for once could mean the turtles with a curvier shell have a curvy backbag

And some species of turtles have a completely different shell shape, like the twist-necked turtle or the mata mata

and their backbags would be complettely different.

The flat shelled turtles would also have an easier time getting up fast, resulting in a) them teasing their brothers, and watching them struggle to get up and b) them covering their brothers when they fell on their shell and take a bit.

The tall, flat shelled turtle would sometimes carry their brother on their shoulder, the tall, curvey/bulky shelled turtle on the other hand would carry them around on their shell

Bonus point if they have some kind of seat(/sattle, ig) so that they smaller turtle doesn't have so sit on a slant/curved shell

The turtles with the curves shell might not be able to go undercover. And only they have the shell problems I mentioned in this post.

In that, I've also talked about that they should have long chairs, so they can sit on them, despite their bulky shells

Now, if they were differnt kinds of turtles, they could have differently long chairs. Or they have adjustable backrests (probably not for some random chairs lying around, but Donnie would have a loooot to do if he had to make 4 (or more) wheelchairs (just in case, you know)

And, last but not least:

You've already seen some amazing turtles. But let me now introduce you to the marginated tortoise. This lil bean:

As you can see, the lid of their shell is very... long at the end.

Now, if they were humanoid...

you can see how this would be annoying. Especially for sitting

So how could this situation be fixed?

The reason why they don't have the typical long back of the lip is because that's something only adults have.

Now, there are a few ways this could be wonderfully implemented into a comic/series/text.

a) they could show that slowly but surely the marginated tortoise teen struggles because their shell's growing and slowly sitting in a chair becomes uncomfortable. Donnie (whether or not he is the marginated tortoise) rebuilds their chairs and do some other adjustments.

b) *dark atmosphere *

"I still remember making these chairs. I still remember lying in bed, unable to sleep. The moment I realized, one day, you wouldn't be able to sit in normal chairs, I jumped up, grabbed some tools and immediatly went to sawing up chairs and building them back together in a way, you'd be able to use them. It was a little stupid of me. I was completely tiered the next day and you beat my shell in training"

"Leo?!" "Go! I'll hold them off!"

"I could have waiting a lot longer, and I knew it. I knew it would take a few more years before your shell would grow that big. I just kinda... didn't think about that"

"Are you out of your mind, Leo?!"

"I knew it would take a few more years until you couldn't sit in a normal chair anymore. I knew only an adult you would have needed them. I-"

"Leo, you can't-" "I said GO!"

"I just never knew that you wouldn't make it to adulthood"

Shadow: "Uncle Mikey?"

Mikey: "Yes?"

Shadow: "Why do have broken chairs?

Mikey: They're not broken, they were built this way"

Shadow: "Why?"

Mikey: "Our brother Donatello; he was a marginated tortoise. And- they have shells with a very long lip. Imagine my shell would be going further down right here. So, Donnie built these chairs that way, that he'd be able to sit down in them."

Shadow: "But uncle Donnie didn't have a long shell." *Picks up photo "See?"

Mikey: "…Yeah, you're right. He wasn't- Only old turtles have that long shell. It- he-"

Shadow: "Uncle Mikey? Are you okay?"

Mikey: "Yea, yeah. It's just- sometimes I remember that the fact that he build these chairs shows-"

"-that at some point-"

"-he wanted to stay with us; at least a bit longer…"
