Beyond Infinity

“Indeed. Let’s begin the search!” Eiji stated, matter-of-factly. He would explain how Mezool’s monsters worked along the way.

Meanwhile, Mezool, in the form of a water puddle, slithered into an abandoned shopping mall - it was due to be demolished in a few weeks, but that didn’t stop the Greeed from gathering there. Soon, the marine monster left her liquid shape to revert to her marine-Frankenstein’s monster form.

“He got two of my Core Medals... I will get them back. If I can’t, I trust that one of you will do it for my sake.” Mezool whispered. The other two Greeed, a red one resembling some sort of bird and a green one that looked like the unholy matrimony of a stag beetle, a praying mantis and a grasshopper, could only snicker at Mezool’s statement.

“Trust? I, myself, already want my Core Medals back, so I don’t need any of your silly trust, Mezool.” The insect Greeed spat at her. “Uva... the Greeed want to be complete. You know the feeling, so I expect better from you.” The marine monster replied, to Uva’s indifference. “What about you, Ankh?”

                 DURING THE WEEK of 9/21 to 9/27, we can spread love.   

    Monday 9/21 - Shout out day, send as many shout outs as you can to rppositivityisms. Every single one will be posted, and tagged accordingly. Surprise your friends, make them smile.  

   Tuesday 9/22 - Send someone you care for a kind message, send it to as many people as possible. Kindness leaves a lasting impression upon everyone. 

   Wednesday 9/23 - Make someone some form of a graphic, or make a new friend.  

    Thursday 9/24 - Post something positive you like about your portrayal of your character, and tag rppositivityisms so I can reblog it, and spread your awesome blog around. 

     Friday 9/25 - Post selfies with a positive message in the description. Tell yourself that you’re wonderful, and beautiful. 

    Saturday 9/26 - Promote your favorite blogs.  

Eiji took the medal he was handed before adjusting his belt buckle to a horizontal position, which cancelled his transformation and reverted his form back to the hobo Rei is so used to looking at.

“Sorry about that. The Greeed can smell desire from a mile away. Did Mezool do anything especially bad to you?”

“And she tossed it into your forehead?!” Eiji was far too used to this situation, so the instant Rei mentioned coins, he knew what was going on.

        [ ♂ ] :: She watched and waited, ready to fire another attack if needed. Before long enough of a dent had been put into the creature for her to retreat, leaving the senshi of passion and the masked rider alone. Rei promptly detransformed in a rush of flames and heat before folding her arms across her chest. 

          She stepped forward, accidentally kicking at a fallen medal with her sandal. With a frown the miko crouched to pick up the medal and held it out to Eiji. “Here. That explains why I felt so uneasy today,” she murmured, brown hues flicking about for any other signs of danger.

         [ ♂ ] :: There were still so many things they didn’t know about each other. Most distant siblings only had to worry about discovering little things like each other’s favorite food or color; instead they had magical abilities to learn about. After witnessing Eiji transform, she didn’t see a problem in doing the same–eventually her secret would have come to light.

          She scoffed, preparing to rush forward and exchange physical blows with the creature when a pair of crackling whips shot forth, Eiji taking the hit for her in his armored suit. Mars propelled herself forward through the use of a cartwheel before launching a stream of ofuda and flame at Mezool. “Akuryou Taisan!” If it struck, it would briefly paralyze and burn her, hopefully ceasing the assault of the whips.

Mezool felt the fireball hit her, paralyzing her for a few moments.

Eiji, now free from the Greeed’s shocking shackles, immediately drew his blue sword, the Medajalibur, just as Mezool was suffering the effects of Rei’s attack, to thrust the tip of its blade deep into the marine creature’s belly.

Immediately, Eiji pulled the sword out of the Greeed’s midsection, causing not only a bunch of Cell Medals to pour out, but also two blue Core Medals, one in the image of an electric eel and the other in the image of an octopus. “Bingo!” Eiji said in an excited tone, picking up the fallen Core Medals to keep for himself.

          [ ♂ ] :: The ridiculous singing, right up there with the speech that came before it, had her rolling her eyes and groaning inwardly.  “—–Eiji-san,” the miko softly griped at her brother’s antics before curling her hands into fists at her sides and nodding with conviction. There was no time for scoldings; she needed to fight with him.

          “Mars Power… Make Up!” With a hand gesture and the call of her planetary henshin phrase, the magic within the silver bracelet on her wrist engulfed her body. When the heat and red lights died down, there stood the high-heeled senshi of flame and passion.

          She pinned Mezool with a sharp look. “In the name of Mars, I’ll punish you!”

“Reiko can transform too?!” The now-transformed Eiji was absolutely speechless. Mezool, on the other hand, seemed none too fazed by Rei’s transformation. “An overgrown action figure and a wannabe superhero. Perfect!”, the Greeed spat at the sibling duo, before she let a pair of electrically-charged whips out of her arms.

       [ ♂ ] :: It happened so fast, the coin being thrown in her direction before she could properly react. There was a warmth in the center of her forehead and the sensation of something entering through the flesh–the coin–and in the next moment, Eiji was there, kicking away the offending creature with…

          with–

          …a sandwich in his mouth. It was even more embarrassing for Rei when he initially tried to yell around it, but that wasn’t the point. He came to rescue her and that’s what mattered, even if she believed she didn’t need the help. The burning sensation on her forehead said otherwise.

Eiji let out an indecipherable speech, thanks to the sandwich he was still chowing away at. It almost sounded like he was possessed and speaking in tongues, or like he was having a stroke. Thankfully for Rei, his speech became slowly more tangible with time, concluding with, “--and besides, that’s my sister you’re spooking!”

“Is that so? All the more to torment you with.” Mezool spat at Eiji, beckoning him to fight her. “Now, why don’t you transform?”

With that said, Eiji pulled out his powered belt. Upon his placing it on his waist, it formed a silver strap with a scanner device strapped to its right side and a small coin compartment on the left side. He opened the compartment to reveal five colored coins - his magical Core Medals.

In order, he slid a red medal with the image of a hawk, a yellow medal with the image of a tiger, and a green medal with the image of a grasshopper into the belt. Then, Eiji titled the buckle and picked up the scanner to scan the Medals.

“Henshin!”

“Hawk! Tiger! Grasshopper!” The scanner announced, before it sang to herald Eiji’s transformation. “♪ Ta-To-Ba! Tatoba Ta To Ba! ♪”

        [ ♂ ] :: Rei shook her head. She knew what she wanted to do with her life. She dreamed of becoming head priestess of a shrine, if not the Hikawa Shrine then another. Even with all her efforts and accomplishments, she was only a mere miko with many ranks and requirements to pass. There was much work to do and she wanted to handle it alone. 

          Despite becoming a little more open with people to an extent–like the quirky brother who recently entered her life–Rei was independent. She didn’t need anyone’s assistance in achieving her goals, especially not some creature who deserved to be exorcised. Brandishing an ofuda between two fingers, Rei fixated a glare upon the one called Mezool, attention dipping to the coin in her possession. 

           “And how could you help me?” she pressed, ready to throw the enchanted slip of paper at any moment if the monster posed a threat. Silently she observed the different shapes reflected upon the surface of the coin from the nearby fire.

“Like... this.” And so, Mezool summoned what appeared to be a coin slot on Rei’s forehead, into which she tossed the silver coin.

By that time, Eiji finally arrived at the scene, but it was too late - the Greeed had placed the seeds for her newest creation.

“No!!” Eiji yelled, or at least tried to. The sandwich in his mouth would barely let him. But that didn’t stop him from rushing to Mezool and delivering a flying kick to her backside.

         [ ♂ ] :: The fire room was her sacred haven, her comfort zone where she felt at ease. There, she had the most control of her mind, body and spirit. Her muscles had even begun to relax. However, her sense of serenity was fleeting in that situation and like a severed thread it snapped just in time for her to detect another presence in the establishment. 

          Whirling around, the miko locked eyes with what looked to be a youma of sorts. She could either transform and destroy it then or wait until she got some answers for its appearance. Apparently it wanted answers from her as well.

          Her hands clenched into fists at her sides. “I do.”

“I am Mezool. Allow me to... assist you with your desires.” The creature boasted. Mezool held a small silver coin with the image of a whale in her right hand.

Meanwhile, Eiji ate a chicken sandwich on a bench. “Hm! This is one heck of a sandwich. Right?” He directed himself to two small robots sitting beside him, one modeled after a hawk and the other after a gorilla. “I don’t think anything can--”

Suddenly, the gorilla droid started flailing its little arms around, while a grunting sound emanated from it.

          [ ♂ ] :: Rei felt off, and had felt that way since the previous night when she laid her head down to sleep. Something wasn’t right. Something was going to happen; she just couldn’t put her finger on what and it brought a chill down her spine each time she pondered upon it. By morning it worsened to where she was tense all over and couldn’t do her chores around the shrine without snapping her gaze toward the littlest sound. Whatever served as a distraction, she was glaring at it, silently demanding answers. This time it was the soft crackling of the flames, prompting the hairs on the back of her neck to stand at attention.

The little girl overseeing Rei’s activities mused upon the miko’s higher desires, one she seemed to keep very hidden from everyone else. “I have never seen a desire quite like this... truly a very interesting one.”
