Welcome to Low Tide! A relatively simple and easy-going comic to get myself back into the swing of things. I hope you all enjoy it as much as I did working on it. It's been way too long since my last comic so hopefully things will go a lot more swimmingly compared to before.
And to address potential concerns - the only thing I will say in advance is to give it some time. I'm not going to hold back this round and that 18+ warning is there for a reason.
So, the *original* plan was to open up my Patreon as well to support the comic but there will be a slight change on how I want to go about it. To get a bit personal, I've been job hunting since April which has been a rollercoaster in its own right. As of yesterday, it looks like I have a couple options open up for me to pursue. Unfortunately.
What I am thinking, as a compromise, is that I *will* open up my Patreon but only as a tip jar so that people are not tied to a monthly sub. I will also be plugging in my Ko-Fi as well for people who prefer to support me that way.Â
This may change in the future depending on what the work situation is like. If I am able to find a balance between both that as well as art then I would have it be a more traditional set up (people paying per month, getting to see pages a week early, exclusive art, etc.).
As an update for what else there is to come - I got a lot of other stuff planned out now that I will be working on as I get through Low Tide. Some of it is big, some of it is small. For those wondering about that *other* project (shown below) that I was working on for a while: it's being reworked. Again. Truth be told I was running into one too many dead ends with it and it was in that frustration that I ended up creating Low Tide which took a fraction of the amount of time it took to get up and running.
That being said, the original project is gonna be something I'll be working on some more in the background. Whether or not it will happen right after Low Tide I'm not sure yet but I got other stuff planned out just in case. The last thing I want is to have so much downtime between comics.
Every Wednesday I will be reuploading Up and Out here on BlueSky and Tumblr. Whenever I am asked about this comic I made no attempt at hiding my contempt for it. At the very same time though, I can't ignore the overall positive reception it had. Rather than trying to bury it into the depths of the past, I'll be posting it here with some revised dialog along with touching up the art because rereading it again made me want to scream. The overall story will not change and you can read it in its entirety on either my Twitter or on E621 (ty to whoever did that) if you rather not wait.Â
SO that's the big update on my side of things. Took a bit longer than I'm comfortable with trying to get this out but I am hoping that this will get me back on schedule so that I can just make more art. Burnout has been hitting hard among other things and really I just wanna fucking draw more again.
