Director: If you get hit in the face you deserve it because you watched it hit you in the face

A guard show is like a work of art. There are days and times that we are going to hate it, times when we might start completely over, times when we get so frustrated that we throw up our hands and try to throw it away, there will be tears, and anger, fights and harsh looks! BUT THAT’S OKAY, because its worth it for the times you FINALLY get the toss just right, those times when you stand back and want to cry because the entire guard is finally together on the hit. Those times when you will call “wrap it up” with goosebumps covering your arms and legs because you KNOW that was the perfect run through. For the times that you look onto the team members faces and realize that the doubts and fears of the past few months, the moments of anger and frustration, the tears, the pain, are all WORTH the moment that you see smiling faces on your team as they walk off the field. So no I’m not 100% into our show. But I’m asking all of me to fight the fight, tear, frustrations, anger, pain, and everything else with me this season. Then when the last flag has flown, and the gym lights are off we can look at each other and say WE DID IT.
