Reminder that self-diagnosers are never the reason doctors won't take you seriously. The reason doctors won't take you seriously is because we live in a deeply ableist society where people are always looking for an excuse to invalidate those who say they're suffering. In a society that wasn't ableist, doctors would listen to self-diagnosers, too. Even if they disagreed with their diagnosis, they'd still hear out why they thought they had that condition, and work with that information to try and find a better diagnosis.
