Hiiiii hiii everyone!! I'm going to be at the afternoon meet up tomorrow (Friday the 10th) in NY, so if you see me, please say hi! I'll be in Lifering cosplay, so I should be easy to spot! <3

I would like to ask about Tacomic headcanons but during the time when she's first apologied to Mic and really her being around other objects in years
If you'd like to [:
-🦭
Hi Seal!!^^ Welcome back, and thank you for sending in your request!! :]
Taco hides behind Mic, all the time. She's slightly wider than Mic is, of course, so it's not as though it hides her entirely. But she feels better being at least somewhat out of sight and covered by someone she sees as safe. It also conveniently keeps her from making eye contact with anyone if she's keeping her gaze firmly on Mic's back.
Honestly, beyond hiding behind Mic, I think there would be a period in which Taco actively avoids speaking to anyone else if Mic isn't around, particularly because she looks to Mic for guidance in social situations. Not only has she been very isolated for the past few years, but she's also supposed to be nice to others now? She doesn't know how to do that. She's going to be confused and unsure and probably mess up a whole lot. And since she sees Mic as such a good person, Taco looks to Mic when she's uncertain. I think a lot of her sentences would be punctuated with her trailing off slightly and looking up at Mic to make sure whatever she said is okay.
I think Taco would be much more on board with physical contact and closeness after everything that's happened, and Mic would take full advantage of it, once she realises. Taco would avoid touch in the past, while Mic has always been physically affectionate with those she likes, but held back for Taco's sake. Now, Taco will occasionally and very hesitantly initiate the teeniest, tiniest touches, and Mic will happily scoop her up to make it a full embrace. Taco doesn't pull away anymore, and gets less and less stiff as time goes on, and I think that would make Mic very happy, yeah?
Taco is simultaneously more in every loop than most of the other contestants, and as far out of the loop as she possibly can be. She knows nothing about stories or inside jokes from the hotel. She does however know a tad more than is normal about everyone's quirks, idiosyncrasies, psychologies, and personalities than is normal. She doesn't understand others, their feelings, or motivations well, but she can read them like books, and easily notice things that others wouldn't. This becomes a problem when she's trying to make conversation and brings up someone's habit of, say, picking at their nails when they get nervous. When she's never spoken to them prior. Mic, on the other hand, would probably know about more things, in general, medias, interests, as well as how to socialise... better than Taco. That's not a very high bar, but my point is that Mic spends a lot of time, especially right when Taco comes back to the group, explaining what Taco should and should not use as conversation topics.
hellooooo first time sending an ask 👀👀👀
if you dont mind, could u share some tacopad and tacopickle headcanons??? if it isnt too much trouble!!!
-🐾💌 (feel free to call me either emmie or catty!! i dont mind either)
Hi Catty!!^^ Welcome, and thank you for sending in your request!! :]
I think Mepad should read to Taco. She can read on her own, of course, but her access to books would be limited up until she and Mepad are out in the forest together, and he has the internet's worth of books at his disposal. He probably hasn't taken much of a chance to stop and relax by reading, either, so I think it would be nice for them both to get comfy, while Mepad reads a book aloud while displaying it on his screen. I think Taco would quickly figure out how to pirate books on Mepad, as well.
Speaking of Taco using Mepad as an actual tablet- perhaps it would tickle him, just a bit. She types on his screen, using her full hands rather than just fingers since she's so much smaller than him, and he shifts a little. Wiggles. Shimmies. It's not like Toilet has any limbs, and Mephone is also a phone, so I doubt anyone has really used him for his manufactured purpose before. He wouldn't know he was ticklish beforehand, yeah? Mepad wouldn't mind letting her continue despite his newfound ticklishness, I think. It would come to be a pleasant sensation he associates with Taco.
Morals are not Taco's strong suit nor main concern, so she would likely have little problem with Pickle eating cucumbers. In fact, she'd be willing to supply them for him, I think. Not to say I think she'd eat a taco, she wouldn't like the feeling of crushing a shell just like her own at all, but it's not her problem if Pickle wants to eat cucumbers. He'd appreciate her nonchalant-ness about his cannibalism habit.
Taco has barely used any technology for years, and Pickle is a gamer. I think they would play video games together, and Pickle would absolutely decimate Taco every time. She would probably get better with practice, but would like seeing Pickle happy every time he wins, yeah? So she'd never put much work into getting good at the games. As long as they're spending some nice time together, she can deal with losing.
May we ask how some of the people at hotel oj react to tacos more animalistic tendencies? Are they weirded out by it? Do they do their best to be accommodating? Do those tendencies ever get ever get in the way of others daily life? If so, is taco aware of it? Does anyone confront her about it? Does she try to hide it? Does that make her uncomfortable? Do people notice anyway? This is such a cool concept! -Orchids
Hi Orchids!!^^ Welcome back, and thank you for sending in an ask!! :]
I think they would react both better and worse than you'd think. Taco didn't exactly act 'normal' in season one, yeah? She already howled back then. Frankly, for most of the season one contestants, they'd probably just assume that, 'oh, I guess the animal-esque behaviour wasn't a part of her act, she just does that' and move on with their days. It's not as though they really knew her for her true personality before, so they don't have much to base it on. The season two and three contestants hadn't met her at all, so similarly, they'd probably assume that the animalistic tendencies are just something that Taco has always and normally had, rather than coming from her time in the woods. So, no one would be pointing it out as weird.
Though, this also comes with the issue of them not being particularly accommodating. Behaviours that are in part or entirely fueled by trauma, such as, say, her growling if someone tries to touch her food, are treated more as Taco being rude/inconsiderate/snappish rather than being scared and on-guard, and in turn their responses aren't as understanding as they could be. Mostly just telling her to calm down, or that she's being rude or overreacting, rather than being sympathetic or trying to help her feel more comfortable.
I do think the animalistic tendencies could get in the way of others' lives. If she bites or scratches reflexively or out of fear, certainly. If she's hoarding or sees an item as hers/a part of her territory, she'd get quite upset if someone messed with it, which could cause issues. And again, these episodes from Taco wouldn't be met with as much care as they probably should be. Taco would be aware of the conflict, but for the most part not see how they think she's in the wrong for protecting her territory/food/things/self.
Mic would probably have to be the one to 'confront' Taco about it, since she'd more likely shut down that conversation if anyone else tried to start it, really. And since Mic would already be more understanding towards Taco anyway, I'd actually think the conversation could go fairly well. It would be easier for Mic to explain to the others that Taco isn't trying to be mean by growling, that how she expresses that she's feeling upset or scared, if someone is getting too close to her food or taking her things. That she isn't trying to take from them, but that she's so used to not having enough basic necessities that she panics if she perceives something as being taken from her. She could verbalise it better than Taco could, I think, and she speaks great Taco-ese, so she'd understand it when Taco does try to explain it to her.
As for hiding it, while I do think Taco would try and lessen some of the behaviour, particularly the aggressive ones that cause tension, I don't think she could hide them very well. She recently pushed her emotions and trauma so far down that she died from the emotional strain- I think picking up another mask to cover trauma responses would be harder for her than ever.

So i was reading late nights (its so good holyyy shittt you understand them so so well theyre literally so accurate aughhh) and got to thinking about an au of mine where taco is just plain french and only made it through the duolingo lessons on food before season 1 started, which led to me headcanonning pickle to be like, weirdly good at learning/understanding other languages.
Like maybe its just me remembering almost nothing from highschool french class but i think it would be cool if pickle had this one weird skill he wouldnt discover without trying it. He can equate words to other words like no one else. By the time season 4 rolls around, if he reads/hears something in a language thats close to either english or french he can usually sort out enough related words to have a good-enough idea of what it means. Taco has similarly been working on english but it all sounds weird and hyperformal and not quite right yet, and honestly neither of them care about being perfect as long as they can communicate clearly.
In my au this results in taco and pickle perpetually yapping in the most unhinged french-english blend, pickle is 100% saying that “qu’est-ce qu’y’all doing aujourd’hui” line from whatever tumblr post spawned that and not even noticing what a linguistic abomination it is, taco is responding in kind, and both of them are also cracking bizarre multilingual jokes. Neither of them have heard of sentence structure in months. Pickle also rapidly becomes the go-to Language Guy when someones trying to figure out what something means (usually called upon during movie nights when the subtitles go [SPEAKING FOREIGN LANGUAGE] rather than either writing out the words or translating).
Canon pickle, upon meeting these two, is deeply unnerved and also so so jealous. Au taco is telling canon taco “just teach him french itll solve everything” and canon taco is like no i dont think it will actually
- @items-objects-gizmos (hi im back and filled with autism. My brain randomly threw the five-ish french words i still remember at me after finishing the most recent late nights chapter and i ended up thinking about aus again. Also if ive yapped about this to you before i do apologize i have actually never remembered anything ever)
Hi Gizmos!!^^ Welcome back, and thank you for sending in your request!! :] And thank you for your kind words!!! <3 I'm glad I seem to have been able to write them in-character!!
First, I must say an enthusiastic yes to multilingual jokes. Bonus points if they're only funny if the listener/one being told the joke understands at least some technical language terminology. I have had quite a few jokes that I can never tell anyone else, because they require a certain degree of knowledge of both English and Japanese, and I'm not close enough with anyone who also has that knowledge to be able to tell them the jokes. It's torture.
I like the idea of giving Pickle that skill!! Goodness knows he needs one for his own sake. Him being the go-to guy for something could do wonders for his self-image. I also like the idea of Taco's English sounding oddly formal, simply because she decided she likes talking like that. She decided that she'd use a British accent when speaking English, one day, and that was that.
Your au and canon counterparts meeting each other would probably just be a bummer for everyone, really. Taco is evil in a parallel world, and they aren't even friends anymore? Taco isn't evil in a parallel world, and Pickle has something that he's known for being really good at? Yearning and fear rolled up into a saddening ball of scratchy yarn.
Hii couldihave poppy and taco hcs because ithink it would be cute if taco took poppy under her wing since she knows what its like to be outcasted by people
Hi there!!^^ Welcome, and thank you for sending in your request!! :]
I think, with these two, Poppy would have to approach Taco first. They'd probably hear at some point about Taco having been outcasted for years and go to her to try and find someone who understands. Her (from what we've seen, at least) positive relationship with MeTag would probably help to bring this about, yeah? Taco would... not have any good advice to give. She's not very empathetic, and exclusively utilises the worst possible coping strategies. She wouldn't be particularly uncomfortable around Poppy, though, for a couple of reasons that I think are obvious enough, so beyond her usual awkwardness, they could probably get along quite swimmingly.
Perhaps Taco would kindly donate a spot in the woods to Poppy. I like to think she has a number of secret spots in the forest that she knows about from living there for so long, that the others don't know about and/or can't easily access. If the outcasting that Poppy faces gets to be too much on a particular day, there's a spot waiting for them in the dark, quiet forest where no one will be around to look at them with enough apprehension to make them nauseous, yeah?
Poppy could try to fix Mepad for her. They'd hear about him, since he and Taco were so important to each other at the very end, and in addition to wanting Taco to have someone back who she clearly misses and cared for so deeply, they'd probably want to meet someone so kind and accepting too. Taco is good enough at hacking to at least semi-jailbreak Mepad, so I wonder if she could help Poppy out at all, or take interest in learning about technology from them.
Taco's, hm, dismal, attitude towards others at times could be a good thing for Poppy as well. They express how sad it makes them when a particular object unsubtly avoids them? Taco rolls her eyes, tells Poppy that said object is annoying anyway, and that they secretly have unusually sweaty hands so it's better for Poppy not to be too close to them anyway. Who cares what they think, if they're not already one of Poppy's safe people? In this case, a lesser interest in people who aren't her people comes in handy!
So, her vote for Marshmellow was a strategic choice, since Marsh was so popular. She thought that, if a vote came down to her and someone else, Marshmallow was who she was least likely to beat, so voted for her!
Not entirely something that couldn't be gauged from the original line ('Marshmellow is mean~' emphasising a flaw of Marsh's directly to the audience via confessional) but a neat part of them making Taco a bit more... not obvious, but... a bit more transparent, if that's the right word, in this reality.
I do think I prefer the less transparent version, solely because I adore the idea of Taco being a (near) perfect actor that slowly descends into breaking apart from all the emotions she pretends she doesn't have, but I do think this version is interesting as well!! :]
I LOVE HER SO MUCH. SHE WAS NOT THE FOCUS OF THIS EPISODE BUT SHE WAS SO PERFECT THE ENTIRE TIME WAOW WAOW MY TACO. MY TAQUITA!!!!
IT'S STILL TECHNICALLY PRIDE MONTH WHERE I AM. BRING OUT THE VINE WHILE WE STILL CAN.

Yuri Tacoknife hcs.. Looks with big pleading eyes
Hi there!!^^ Welcome, and thank you for sending in your request!! :]
Hmm... okay, but it's toxic yuri because I say so.
Knife can fix her. Or, rather, Knife can rage and rant at her and pull out and pick at all of her mistakes and insecurities while Taco does the exact same thing right back. Taco can make Knife worse. Taco does make Knife worse, but someone who brings out the worst in him while not really giving him consequences for his behaviour beyond the same insulting that they both do to each other anyway is... refreshing. Knife isn't as cruel as he used to be, but getting to let loose every once and a while doesn't hurt.
Knife's idea of a romantic visit is going to check if Taco is alive in her forest home once and week or so, flipping her off when he sees her, and telling her she looks like shit. Taco flips him off right back and tells him he looks worse. Then they talk shit for hours. Taco also finds it very romantic.
Taco bites Knife a bunch. They're affectionate and angry and all over him and he loves to hate to love them. Which means Knife wears long sleeves even during seasonally inappropriate times, which Taco will endlessly make fun of him for, and call him sweaty a lot during the hotter months.
Mic has no idea how this happened and doesn't think it's very happy, but at least two of her very close friends are... getting along? ...Getting out their aggression in a healthy way? Whichever it is, she's supportive!
haiiii do u have any head canons of taco with disordered eating habits/eating disorders…? Im a taco kin (season one!!!!! sometimes season two) who deals with ed habits and projecting my habits onto her helps me cope ( ´ ▽ ` ) recovery head canons are awesome too!!!!!!! that would help lots (*´꒳`*)
if this is too triggering thats ok!!!!!!! js delete
Hi there!!^^ Welcome, and thank you for sending in your request!! :]
I believe I've discussed it before, so I apologise if you've seen that and I'm just retreading old ground, but I think of Taco as having quite the food hoarding issue. She stashed and stored a lot of food when she was living out in the woods, and needed enough to get herself through the winter when it's much harder to live off of the land, yeah? I'd imagine she shoves a lot of it into her hammerspace, since I usually think it has the same anti-spoiling properties as her toppings and shell do. But I also think she'd have certain stashes hidden around the forest, just in case. She'd get anxious if she stashed it all away and didn't keep any on her, where she could keep track of it, though.
This would, I think, extend to a protectiveness over the food she does have. Like, once she's back with the group, eating meals with everyone can be a challenge. She eats faster than she should, because she's worry it'll disappear or someone will take it from her. The others would probably learn fairly quickly to keep their hands away from Taco's plate, and not to try to take it back once it's handed to her. She will get upset and anxious very quickly if you do, and will move to protect her food if she thinks she has to.
Speaking of when she's back with the group- she doesn't eat enough. Sometimes it's because she's taking food from her own meals to stow away for later, even if there's already extra food being saved, she just has to make sure. Just in case. She gets anxious if she's not allowed to stow some of it away, even if it's a food that's really meant to be eaten right away.
She'd probably have trouble eating the meals she's given, anyway. A small part would be because she's one of the smallest members of the cast, so the average meal for most of them would be at least a bit more than she'd need at a healthy weight. But Taco is at a years-spent-homeless-in-the-forest weight, and her stomach is abnormally small from those years of not eating enough. She'd have to work her way back up to regular portions, which is difficult considering she hoards most of her food. They would probably make a meal plan for her at Mic's request, that she only adheres to at Mic's request (combined with Mic's puppy-dog eyes).
Look at this thing
So handsome
* he broke the bowtie collar in this photo and the 2nd one we bought is probably broken too
Hi Ducky!!^^ Welcome back, and thank you for sending in a kitty!! :3
Hello handsome little man!! Unfortunate that he keeps losing his bowtie as he looks incredibly adorable in it. You must keep buying him bowties no matter what. Take out a loan if you must. It's for the greater good!
Can you please talk some more about behaviors and habits that taco picked up from living in the woods? It makes sense that taco would be worried about food, and easily stirred from sleep, any other hcs?
Hi there!!^^ Welcome, and thank you for sending in your request!! :]
Oh you better bet I have headcanons about this. I wrote an entire fic about one of them. I really like this topic!
I like to think, combined with habits gained from her season 1 performance, Taco develops some more feral/protective tendencies during her time in the woods. If an animal growls at her, she will growl back, and eventually she's the one who will growl first. She'll puff up her lettuce to look bigger if she thinks something (or someone) is planning to try to harm her. She'll shift her tomatoes around just so, so they can look convincingly enough like a pair of eyes on the back of her head. These habits don't really go away, when she does finally live around other objects.
This is a bit of the opposite, but after she's moved out of the woods and into a building for the first time, it's actually rather unpleasant for her. There's a curve, certainly. The lights are too bright and loud and on even when it's supposed to be dark. She doesn't know how to use a single appliance. A bed is too open and unprotected, she can't sleep if she's not fully hidden from predators. I wouldn't be surprised if she actively goes back to being in the woods, when all of the new aspects of indoor living get to be too much for her. She will go sleep in a nice dark hole where she's covered and safe from danger.
And for the opposite of her sleeping in a hole, I think she'd like to hang out in treetops and other high-up places. Sure, there's the risk of her falling, but she's reasonably good at landing on her feet, and it's much easier to stay covered up and safe in the treetops. Most people and animals tend to forget to look up, not just around, and she'd blend in very well up there. She'd even have birds for company.
Eating raw meat, particularly fish. Setting a fire would be a major risk if she's trying to stay hidden, yeah? The smoke would reveal her location easily, not to mention the light it gives off. So, when she has food you'd normally cook, she just... doesn't. I say mostly fish, since they're on an island, so fish would probably an easier source of protein for her. I think she'd come to prefer the taste of raw fish/meat, much to other's disgust. They would probably serve her cooked meat to try and curb the habit, but she'd just go catch something herself if she really had a particular craving.

Ok so taco adorable but look at them!!! Hehehe they’re so cute
Also the start of taco dragging tall people around lmao
Hi Ducky!!^^ Welcome back, and thank you for sending in an ask!! :]
Bow and Marsh were really cute this episode too! I like seeing them more affectionate before... ah... y'know...
Taco dragging her friends around is the greatest thing I've ever seen and there's finally a full collection of them. Watch the hand. He did it. What is wrong with her? <3
i like to believe taco is a piano player….maybe music is her loev language for mic idk…do you have any hcs related to taco and music?
Hi Candi!!^^ Welcome back, and thank you for sending in your request!! :]
Piano would be interesting, given the only way Taco would know how to play is if Mephone coded her to be able to, at least at this point. She is a fan of classical music, so I can see it being something she'd want to learn. Or Mephone deciding that since she's fancy and british that she should know how to play the piano. Either way, I am in full support of her serenading Mic.
Speaking of her serenading Mic, Taco is not very good at verbalising her feelings, and music is a fairly common alternate form of emotional expression. I wonder if it's something that could help her, expressing herself through carefully curated songs. I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if Mic did the same thing, so it could be a pretty good way of communicating for them, honestly.
She does sing, though! Boy does she sing. I'm not even talking about Taco's Tirade specifically, I just think she'd sing to herself a fair amount. Something to fill the constant, echoing silence of solitude in the woods! I think Mic hears it one (1) time during their alliance when she's trying to get some advice from Taco, and compliments her on her voice. Taco gets flustered and does not sing in front of Mic again, nor to herself for a while (because of embarrassment but eventually also her mental health declining), but does start up quietly again after the season 2 finale. Mic listens to her a lot <3.
Taco's preferred genre of music is classical, but thanks to Mic's influence, I think she enjoys heavy metal and screamo music as well. Though as I said, it would be due to Mic introducing it to her, she'd probably end up listening to more intense music than Mic. It can almost be louder than the screaming inside of her head, yeah?
