Hello~ I'm back with another screen shot! It's another one of the outside maps, leading us to a very ominous front door~ The outside section is quite short, but I still wanted the maps to look good and help build the atmosphere. I really wanted them to look like we are truly lost in a secret part of the woods.

I recently found and played through some of the very early builds of the game, and these maps have definitely changed a lot! But something about being able to make it all yourself is very satisfying, and its a great feeling seeing your vision come alive!

Thank you all so much for the recent likes and reblogs, I was worried the blog would be completely dead after I came back again, but it's not and I'm so so so grateful!

We also hit 300 followers, and its been steady there for a couple of days now, I know not everyone is active but it's still quite the achievement. I'm going to hunt out the doodle I think is stashed away and try and finish it up as a thank you to everyone :)

And please if you read this, don't be shy, if you want to ask me anything about the game, I will try to answer as best (and as spoiler free) as I can!

What's been happening this week? Lets get into it...

So on the last update I said I was making things run smoothly for that event and then I did a play test the next day, and things were not working haha...ha...ha Events weren't turning off when I needed them to, things weren't moving right, just everything was off... But I fixed it finally! Everything now works like it should and we can progress onto the last part of Section 3, I also had a good look the timing and flow of the dialogue, and it is looking great now. The CG pops up at the perfect time, there is enough of a pause to build a little tension and really feel the mood, all seems good! (Until I test it in a couple of weeks and I change the event in some way...maybe) I also worked on some of the sprite art needed for little animations, like when you see an object to pick up. The colouring on one sprite wasn't quite right when it changed during its animation, so that's fixed now, and the colouring of the CG wasn't quite right but I tweaked it and its blending in better now! I also made and spruced up some more environment items for the maps. Lots of little things but stuff that needed doing.

Been doing a little bit of searching for Sound Effects this week, I have a few to choose from now, just gotta narrow down the perfect ones!

And that's it, onto the home stretch for Section 3, going to work on programming in the last little bit and working out if I want any CG's or need any new sprites or objects. There might be a small update next week, I am going on a family holiday, so there probably wont be an update the week after, but I'm sure I will find something to post!

Another little screenshot to show off another map~ Everything is created by me and put together as a parallax map. Somethings are animated, which you can't tell from a screenshot obviously. It did take quite a while to create everything to build the maps but I found it really fun to do, and then even more fun making the maps! It's so satisfying seeing it all come together. Another garden map from the beginning of the game, and also part of the Demo :)

Oh hello again~ It's that time again and I have made a little more progress with Section 3! Nothing huge but I have been making sure the main event of the section runs smoothly and that things happen the way they should because of that. Lots of play testing and checking events and variables work, oh the joys haha. I have added in all the missing talk sprites needed so far, and I have a lovely little To-Do list of things I need to make or fix! Mainly finding some more sounds, a little animation and fixing colouring on a sprite.

So progress isn't happening as quickly as I thought I could make it happen, but I'm really happy to do doing something again

oh and I also really wanted to show off some of the maps from the game so here is a screenshot~

It is part of the outside area that is the start of the game. It's also part of the demo, if I ever get brave enough to put it up anywhere.

There are a few more I would like to share sometime later too. I still have a long way to go it would seem, but it took a long time and a lot of effort to get where I am just now.

Hi, I'm Tera-Lyn, could you please help me? I seem to be a little lost...

So I was hoping for a more productive week but the kids haven't been well and I have been exhausted every night.

Not to say that I didn't get anything done because I did do a little bit! And that's better than nothing~

New item card art for section 3 is in game and will pull up from the menu when selected~ I got back into programming and finished up one of the main events for section 3, I still need to add some art and talk sprites but it's in there~ I just need some finishing touches and section 3 will be done. At least that's the hope, I'm going to focus on finishing it up soon.

So with that goal in mind I started fleshing out the notes I have for section 4, since I had some kind of unproductive, tired evenings. This means I can type it up and plan out what I need as soon as section 3 is done.

It just might be!

I hope everyone is well, I have actually been starting off small and working on some little bits for Collectors~

I am trying to pick up where I left off, so I started out kinda easy and worked on some Item Card art I needed for Section 3. I got them all done for this section, and I also made the cute little Icons too for the item menu. Next up was finishing some CG's I started, and I have finished one completely and I'm onto the next, the lines are done and the base colours are in! I still need one more CG for this part of the section, I might have some more to draw, going to check my script and see what's coming next.

Here is a little WIP of one of the CG's, it is actually finished now but I'm hiding it away for the moment~

So I've done a playtest to see where I got up to last time, since its been a while, and Section 3 still has a ways to go in being programmed. The bones of the events are essentially there, just things aren't quite working. At this point I am kinda learning how to use RPG Maker again, my fault entirely, but I should hopefully pick it up pretty quickly since I took notes of everything I did. And so that concludes our first progress update in a while! I am really so happy to be trying this again, it really is a passion project but wish me luck please! I think I said ages ago but I update the Pinned Post of the blog with what I'm currently working on, so feel free to check there if I haven't posted an update yet.

Hello~

Have a doodle of Tera-Lyn I started last year.

I have been having a look through all my art, not just Collectors, and trying to finish stuff up. I even found that I started a Thank You drawing for 300 Followers, but we have fallen to 299 haha, so I will work on that again slowly for the day we reach that number again.

I hope to finish this drawing soon, it's just a simple one, but I will see what I can do to make it feel more current since it has sat around for a little while.

Who could this be? Are they hiding some secrets from us? Only time will tell...

Hello! It's not an update, but a little something to kick-start the blog back to life. I have felt the pressure to produce something every week for an update before but I want to try and use it as motivation to do something, even if it is small, so I can share it here.

I have some drawings that I work on every now and again, and I'm a bit tired of not showing them off so I will line up some WIP's when I can, as long as they are mostly spoiler free.

That's all for now, let's hope for a productive week and I will post next Wednesday!

Hello all, it has been a while hasn't it? Life is a crazy thing, and I have been busy! I now have two little children, and they are adorable and most of my time goes to them, then work and general house and life things. I am trying to find time for me, and Collectors Project is still something I want to continue, and I am trying my best to find a balance in everything.

I'm not sure if the community is still here for a game like mine but I want to share little pieces of progress here once more, and then hopefully my game.

I do plan on trying to get back into updates on Collectors yet again, so please bear with me while I work it all out. I have some art WIP's lined up in my drafts from some doodles and some CG's for the game. I think I also want to share some more of the maps from the game too, I put a lot of energy into them over the years and I'm still very proud of them, but I need to plan that properly.

Well that is all for now, I hope I can once again share the things I love creating with as many of you as I can.

I hope everyone had a lovely time over the holidays and is looking forward to 2024~

I am forever apologising, but I did drop off again from updates. December was hard, I lost my Grandfather at the beginning of the month, I took more shifts on at work (urgh, retail over Christmas is horrible), and then it was Christmas. My little one was definitely more aware this year and it was lovely, if not a little sad because of Grandad.

But it is a new year! and I'm very hopeful that I can continue to make Collectors this year :) It is something to focus on and I do enjoy the challenge of it.

Apologies for last week, I was really busy with work and my baby and just life in general. But I have been doing stuff this week~

Section three is almost programmed in! I decided to make the whole separate map for this section, it seems like a lot but it is a lot easier when putting the events in for what I want to do. And I did make a start on plans for the CG's I want for this part too. I need menu icons for items and item cards, I might try and sketch them up soon~ Not to mention I also need music ...but that's for a later date.

Not an awful lot to report on but progress is happening, and I'm happy with that.

That being said...Is there anything in particular you guys would like to know about the project? Or would you like to see anything? I don't want to really spoil anything, but I know I have been working on this project for quite sometime now, and I'm happy to show off something if you guys want to see it!

This week I have been working on more pixel art~ specifically for a sprite for Section 3! I also started programming in the event for them but remembering how to program the animations is hard, so I'm learning it all again. Luckily I did make myself some notes and I have other events to look at again, so I'm not completely lost.

Also an event I put in a couple weeks ago stopped working...but it turns out I was an idiot and I broke it myself. I am forever creating more problems.

I think all the text I want added to this part of the section is in, it just needs polished. I'm also planning where I want CG's and what I want them to be.

And even though I have done all this I am starting to think I need to have an alternate map for this part, it just might be easier in the long run to have the area be separate from the rest.

I would like to be working faster at this but I am getting something done at the very least. Hopefully I can show you a WIP or something soon~
