“ oh no, i won’t leave. ” delaney shook her head, luminous curls bouncing behind the movement. “ imagine spendin’ months trainin’ to become a full badged healer for you just to say, to the underworld with this ! and leave it to work somewhere that isn’t as… extensive and grueling. oh no, imagine all the wasted time. ” the strawberry blonde gasped at said thought, a hand settling on top of her chest. “ oh. okay ! that sounds like a plan. ” she giggled, fixing the strap over her shoulder. “ of course i would like to ! i am gonna meet you at the leaky cauldron with my shopping bags, then. ” she said with a grin, starting to walk backwards to the exit. “ good luck if you do end up in the spell-damage ward. hopefully you won’t see the witch that has been trying to transfigure her ears into the perfect bunny ears for days. i keep telling her, ms. grandum, you can’t do this if you don’t understand what you’re doing, and she always says that she just wants to hear better while looking cute, like, what ?  ” delaney was giggling when saying that, waving her fingers to collette as a goodbye before leaving the wizarding hospital. 「 ✨  delaney has brought up a canon object. x6 」  「 ✨  delaney has mentioned a canon object. 」 

collette shook her head with a melodic laugh and gentle smile as she waved goodbye to the witch, “oh, she’s a delight.”

hours passed, and collette was finally finished with her shift. she showed up to the leaky cauldron later than she had expected and a little more disheveled than she had been when she had said her goodbyes to delaney.

curls were falling out of her ponytail and into her eyes as she approached delaney at the table, “so sorry, cher -- it wasn’t exactly ms. grandum i ended up treating,” she shook her head. “it was some bloke who decided to try some rather -- uh -- risky uses for engorgio and other spells.” it was clear by her face that collette would much rather forget that particular patient as fast as possible.

“did you end up with the cloak?” 

           with his mother seeing her regular healer for her mid-week check-up, ansem busied himself by wandering the halls of st. mungos.  sure, he should have stayed in the waiting area, but he’d never been very good at following instructions.  spotting a familiar face from a distance, he darted behind a med cart so he could sneak up from behind her.  unfortunately, she turned around before he had a chance to jump out at  her.  by merlin, she’s good.  “ oh i’m fine. just a crippling case of disappointment. “  he waved his hand.  “ mother’s in with healer gracy again.  you know how she is. “  bastia warbeck was known for her frequent visits to the wizarding hospital and ansem had been accompanying her for merlin knows how long.  no matter how many times he tried to separate himself from his family, they were constantly dragging him back into the thick of things. “

      collette snorted in laughter, both at ansem’s approach and his assessment of himself. “you’re not that much of a disappointment if you’re being the doting son and taking your mum to the healer as often as you do   --   i don’t see arson here at mungo’s with her,” she pointed out. “how is your mum doing, though? pass along a hello to her for me, won’t you?”

   “𝓜on mignon,” Adora tutted, reverting to Collette’s first language. She pulled out her wand, and summoned her planner from thin air through Conjuration. The bluenette showed it to the blonde with a pout. “You forgot about lunch at the St. Regal, didn’t you?”

      collette frowned, racking her brain for a moment. as she saw the date in adora’s planner, it clicked. “oh, merlin’s beard! i completely did, mon amour, i’m so sorry! i should be out of here within the next ...” she trailed off, looking at the time, “twenty minutes or so? i just have to file a couple of reports, that’s all.”

her heels can be heard  ricocheting  off the walls of st. mungos.  the head auror walked with a purpose as usual.  unfortunately a colleague landed themselves in the hospital after a rather  nasty  duel taking down a perp.  unfortunately,  it was more than just a duel.  it also involved being scratched by a werewolf, hence why the former slytherin was now at the hospital trying to get some sort of update from the healers.  she breathed out a sigh of a relief.      “      oh thank merlin.  i’ve been trying to find an update on a colleague of mine who’d just been admitted about half an hour ago  ?  chloe alton  ?      ”

    collette’s brows furrowed as she nodded, looking down at the clipboard in her hand, flipping through pages until she found the chart she was looking for. “ah, here we are. follow me,” collette gestured at helen and began walking to the lift to take them to the first floor   --   the creature-induced injuries ward  --   and spoke as they continued walking. “i do not personally know all of ms. alton’s details, but i can bring you to her ward and hopefully her healer will be available for any questions you may have.” they approached the door to the locked door, collette muttering a quiet alohomora and pointing her wand at the door. “this way,” she held the door for helen, spotting ms. alton’s healer quickly. “excuse me?” the healer turned to them, “she has some questions about a patient of yours? her colleague, ms. chloe alton.”

“ ah, yes, ” delaney sighed at the mention of the spell-damage ward, slowly fluttering her eyes close with a slow nod of her head. this takes her back to an hour ago, when the witch walked in to call up for a trainer since their mentos needed their assistance, hazel hues rapidly floating all over the patients and their misfortunes after casting a silly spell. she shivers in a dramatic fashion considering it wasn’t needed. delaney has seen worse. “ if that ends up bein’ the case, well, i hope ye’ get out of it soon. ” delaney grinned, tucking a silly strand behind her ear. the healer’s words succeed on making the hazel eyed a lot more eager to buy that robe. “ you think ? that’s another reason to add it in my i need it list, then. maybe ye’ should give the shop a little visit, too. autumn is here and every piece of clothing there is so fitting and beautiful… ” delaney hummed in a questioning nature. “ …maybe i should have worked on makin’ promotions for clothing shops instead of goin’ down the healer path. ” she shrugged. “ eh. lovin’ it here so. ” 「 ✨  delaney has mentioned a canon object. x4 」

     “you would be rather wonderful at it,” collette agreed, a melodic laugh leaving her lips as she did so. “although, you are also wonderful here at mungo’s   --   so don’t leave,” the blonde witch pointed at delaney with a look of faux-sternness. 

     “i was thinking about heading into diagon alley myself after work for a bite to eat, would you like to meet up at the leaky cauldron for tea?”

     after a straight week of far too long shifts at st. mungo’s, collette was more than ready for her day off to catch up on some errands and catch up with some of her favorite people. this included a trip to hogsmeade for a nice frozen butterbeer  --  even with the changing temperatures, it was the only way collette could drink it  --  and some early christmas shopping, concluding with a visit to her cousin. 

     carrying more bags than she had planned on, the blonde witch plopped herself into a booth at the three broomsticks. after a few minutes, collette had her butterbeer in hand and looked up to see her cousin.

     “ah, there you are, zed!” she grinned, standing quickly to give him a hug and then returning to her seat. “he should be right back,” she gestured in the direction the waiter had gone, “i wasn’t sure what you wanted, so he just went to put in my order and said he’d come back when you arrived. anyways, there’s been too much time between our visits as of late  --  what is going on in your life, cher?”

delaney was skipping her way to the wizarding’s hospital exit merrily, shiny waves of blonde bouncing behind her shoulders as a hum from her own followed her form. you’re dismissed for the day, the witch was told once she got back from the ward she was assigned for the day, confusion on the soft of her face considering she has been there for only a few hours, but no one had to tell her twice. oh, no. once she gave her wand a wave and got her bag ready, the ravenclaw was off !  the skip in her step stops when she sees healer darcy, coming into a stop the moment the witch turned around. delaney giggled. “ hi. ” slender fingers wave to her. “ yes, everythin’s alright. i was just leaving, actually. ” the blonde sighed, a content expression on her face. “ i was told to go home early and ‘m already imaginin’ myself buyin’ this one indigo robe i saw the other day at madam malkin’s. are ye’ still not done with ye’ day, healer darcy ? ” 「 ✨  delaney has mentioned a canon object. x5 」  「 ✨  delaney has cast a spell. 」 

     “not quite, healer lovelace,” collette smiled at her coworker. “i have about another hour or so, unless they need me to stay a bit longer in another ward -- wouldn’t be surprised if i was sent up to the spell-damage ward, people have been trying all sorts of nutty spells that they shouldn’t.” the blonde tucked a loose strand of hair behind her ear. “well you should, it is important to be kind to yourself, and i think you have earned a treat. besides, indigo would look wonderful on you!”

the muggle pen she was holding tapped against her notepad.  the witch continued to speak before  mercifully  concluding the meeting.  she was all too familiar with the halls of the hospital.  she’d just gotten out of another meeting yet again with the hospital director.  it wasn’t out of the ordinary,  but  merlin  were they boring.  she was met with a pleasant surprise when collette popped up.      “      hi  !  i was just passing.  just had a meeting with the hospital director.  they need more blood replenishing potion and antidote to uncommon poisons.  but how have you been  ?        ”

     “knackered,” collette laughed, smiling at her friend. “i’ve been working for ...” she looked at the clock on the wall, eyes widening slightly. “oh mon dieu,” she muttered before speaking directly to alison again, “merlin’s pants, i’ve been on this shift for nearly 20 hours. but other than that i’ve been alright. it feels as though it’s been quite some time since we’ve seen each other, alison.”
