Loud laughter, voices and clinking glasses filled the multilevel home as well the large backyard. The sounds of “Show Out” by Kid Cudi blared through the place as Yahya stood with his friends at one of the many tall tables placed around the yard. He stood amongst his longtime friends, Erik, his wife Sabrina, and Ahmad. Taking a sip of his Hennessey, his eyes looked around the low-lit scenery, glancing over the many familiar and new faces. A dinner party hosted by his boss, that was more personal and not for work.

“How much y’all want to bet, he’s looking for her?” Erik asked as he titled his glass towards his lips. His shoulders moving as Pop Smoke’s voice took over.

“Betting on something we already know is true. No thank you,” Sabrina shook her head and took a sip of her mock mojito as she glanced over at Yahya who was completely zoned out of table’s conversation. Or just ignoring them. Ahmad looked past his childhood with amusement leading him to nudge Erik. Their eyes fixed on the figure stepping into the yard. With a curious look on his face, Yahya looked over his shoulder.
