âWhoâs daddyâs little girl? Huh? Daddyâs little darling? Thatâs right, you. You, my darling baby girl, youâre daddyâs own little twinkling star.âÂ
Kurt peppered his baby daughter with kisses, laughing as she giggled. He couldnât believe there had ever been a when he had not wanted children as his heart nearly burst with joy with each squeal of delight that came out of Sophie.Â
âWho are you and what have you done with my husband?âÂ
Kurt turned to look over his shoulder and smiled at Blaine who was looking at the two of them with half amused, half scandalized expression on his face.Â
âShut up and get in here. Weâre having morning cuddles.âÂ
âKurt, youâre in bed in your work clothes. What happened to âwhen business no hugging because wrinklesâ rule?â Blaine asked.Â
âI can always change,â Kurt replied. He smiled softly when Sophie tapped one of his cheeks with her small hand. âSophie, tell Papa to stop talking and join us.âÂ
âDaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!âÂ
Blaine shook his head but didnât argue. He sat down on the edge of the bed and not two seconds later Sophie crawled her way on his lap, speaking in a language only another toddler could understand.Â
âWell, sweetie, I can see why Daddy forgot all about rule number 1. Who could resist such a pretty smile?âÂ
âWho could indeed?â Kurt said, wrapping his arms around Blaineâs shoulders. âSheâs going to be such a little heart-breaker. Yeah, lots of boys and girls are just gonna want toâŚâÂ
âOOH-kay, letâs at least wait until sheâs in pre-school before we start talking about stuff like that. Yeah, you ainât gonna date anybody until youâre 35,â Blaine said and gave the girl a kiss on the nose.Â
âI was going to say âshare their crayons with youâ but thanks for putting that image in my head,â Kurt mumbled. âOh my God, soon sheâll be going to college.âÂ
âKurt, she barely has all her teeth.âÂ
âYouâre the one who brought up dating!âÂ
Sophieâs high-pitched laughter cut Blaineâs answer short as apparently his Papaâs bow-tie was absolutely the most amazing thing to play with. Granted, it was rather brightly colored.Â
âYou want it? Ah, no, no, no. Not a toy,â Blaine scolded but his tone was anything but serious. âYou wanna play, Sophie? Alright, letâs play. Up, up you go!âÂ
Kurt had to cover his ears as Sophie screamed in joy when Blaine fell down on the bed and lifted his arms so the girl was facing down to him from the scary height of one foot.Â
âHere comes flight 123-Sophie. 123-Sophie calling for Daddy, is Daddy there?âÂ
âDaddyâs here,â Kurt laughed.Â
â123-Sophie requesting for a permission to land on airport-Daddy.âÂ
â123-Sophie can make a safe landing on airport-Daddy.âÂ
Blaine made sounds that Kurt guessed were supposed to sound like an actual airplane before announcing âoh, oh, turbulence!â and then finally giving Sophie back to Kurt.
â123-Sophie has landed safely. Captain Papa has done excellent job once again,â Kurt praised, kissing the top of his daughterâs head. Â
âWell, one has to be careful when taking care of the most precious of precious things,â Blaine said.Â
Blaine smiled as he sat back up and leaned in to give Kurt a kiss. It was the kind of soft kiss you share when you have a kid in the room but it was just as perfect as this perfect morning had been.Â
âI love you,â Kurt said.Â
âYouâre going to be late, arenât you?âÂ
âDonât worry. Itâs worth it.â Blaine kissed Sophieâs cheek. âBut I do have to go now.âÂ
Kurt sighed dramatically. âGo make us a living, my darling husband. We shall wait for your return.âÂ
âYou have to leave, too.âÂ
âFive more minutes.âÂ
Kurt pouted, hugging Sophie close to his chest.Â
15 minutes later and neither of the dads had managed to get out of the house.
