When I went to look for the first post, it was already gone, so, I guess seeing them with KJ got them to delete the post

They recreated the fucking photo. 

That’s…disturbing. 

God this team must have so many different people with so many different jobs. 

Who recreates the same photo with their current partner as with their ex????

This is my favorite gif, cause CS and KJ are just messing around, as always laughing at something on KJ’s phone (seriously, we see that so much. 

This one is my second favorite. CC is just staring at KJ and CS are not being subtle about it at all. I also love how KJ’s arm is just around CS, not Melton. 

I love how everyone is genuinely smiling, we see that so rarely, and KJ is going to joke with Mads, we don’t really see them hang out anymore. 

KJ’s just staring and CS. I don’t think he can see RH’s hand, though, these are all posed, so I’m sure he knows.

Overall, amazing video. very happy.

Also, CC slightly changed the caption, but it’s still not grammatically correct.

On a totally serious note, other than bringing some levity to the situation, this photo completely fucks with traditional gender roles. 

It kind of puts the original photo into perspective as well. Men don’t pose like that. it’s this really gendered expression, something CS tends to shy away from. 

Overall, I’m not sure anything can top today. I’m proud of the boys for finding a constructive way to handle all this.

Truly one of the best.

This is my second favorite interview from the press room at SDCC18. This was the first interview that was published (by Pure Fandom) and it’s one of the more domestic.

So, without further ado, let’s get started!

0:00 - Right off the bat, KJ and CS instantly look like a couple.

For this one, we don’t have footage of them sitting down, but, given that this is the beginning of the interview, it seems like KJ instantly put his arm on the back of CS’ chair.

Even though they aren’t touching, they look a lot cozier than, certainly they did in any interview from last year.

0:17 - The interviewer asks “So, uh, Jughead had a lot of dynamic things happen this season. Uh, from joining the Serpents to violently leaving the serpents. What was it like to play in terms of like kind of sort of the action and turmoil? And, do you expect to see more of that in Season 3?”

KJ is barely paying attention and mostly focusing on chewing his gum

And, as usual, he doesn’t seem exceptionally thrilled with the fact that CS is getting asked the first question…again.

CS’ answer is great “Uh, it was nice!” I think this is a really important thing to remember. Interviewers kind of forget that the more fucked up the role, the more enjoyable and challenging it is for an actor. I like that CS was so blunt about that.

0:38 - KJ looks at CS, then over at something or someone and back to CS

0:49 - CS is still answering the question and says “I think he got his ass kicked like four or five times this last season…” And this is the first time KJ shows any sort of joy in this interview.

Enjoying the thought of CS getting his ass kicked? Seems to be some sort of inside joke, cause CS clearly notices KJ smiling and continues “he was just a magnet for getting his ass kicked”

0:55 - CS looks over at something or someone, it’s possible cole looked to see what the hell KJ was staring at.

Neither of them seem super thrilled, so, if I had to hazard a guess, it’s their handlers telling them to keep their distance, but I really don’t know.

And we’re back to brooding KJ

1:23 - Interviewer talking to Luke “How is Archie’s arrest affecting you?” Luke is pretty hilariously flippant “yeah, I don’t dig it” which, gets a small smile out of KJ

1:24 - And while Luke is talking, CS drinks from that damn water bottle again.  And, as was the norm for the day, KJ started smiling, CS started smiling, and they shared a moment. What the hell is with them and CS drinking???

1:30 - CS finishes drinking and shifts in their seat. This whole water thing really is so weird. 

1:32 - Luke says “I’m not happy with Hiram, and I’m not happy with the situation in general.” KJ looks down at his jeans and starts playing with the loose string. CS is paying rapt attention. 

1:36 You’re about to see Fred open up a can”

KJ nods along, and so does CS. Are they listening all of a sudden? Their reactions are both kind of weird. (also Luke is super adorable miming opening a can of soda)

1:39 - And then KJ starts speaking. And CS literally mouths along every single word. They’re not looking at KJ, they’re not paying attention to anything at first, it seems, but they are mouthing everything KJ says.

1:53 - KJ’s look is adorable when he notices what CS is doing.

1:58 - Luke says “I don’t trust Veronica” KJ adds “Neither do I” And CS adds “Me neither, honestly” KJ loves this

Luke continues “we don’t find Veronica to be very trustworthy” and CS adds “we don’t trust Veronica over here, okay?” It’s not about KJ, this is all about Archie, but there is certainly a part of this that feels like it’s all about protecting KJ. Certainly, CS’ face suggests that.

2:05 - The interviewer asks “Do you think that, um, because of what happened to Fred in the beginning of season 1…beginning of season 2, and kind of just throughout, uh, Archie, the wholesome, main protagonist, has kind of gone darker and darker to where…can he still be called a sort of like optimistic protagonist?”

when the interviewer finishes the question, Luke makes this face:

they always get asked the same questions, and this one is new and creative and thought provoking and Luke just seems really impressed.

2:23 - CS doesn’t start mouthing along immediately, rather they agree with what KJ as saying.

2:27 - CS starts mouthing again. I think he just wanted an excuse to stare at KJ’s lips, frankly.

He’s mouthing along but he’s also having the hardest time keeping his face neutral and not just smiling.

2:58 - The interviewer asks what Archie will be like in juvie. I don’t even know what Luke is doing, but he responds with “you’ll be innocent” and KJ says “yeah” but it’s in that annoyed voice we all use when someone who isn’t part of the conversation decides that they are part of the conversation. I think KJ almost forgot it’s not just him and CS alone in the room. (it’s also possible it’s because he wants to play Archie in jail)

3:04 - KJ says “as an actor, I would love to, love to be in a jail cell” CS and KJ then lock eyes and stare for a few seconds. I wonder if this has something to do with the idea of how contracts work…hm.

3:06 - CS says “it’s pretty easy to shoot too.” I don’t know if they’re joking about how KJ can’t do a shot, or if it’s something else, but it’s clearly another inside joke.

3:11 - The interviewer asks “how many shirtless push-up scenes are they going to make you do?”  and KJ replies with “many” and CS starts nodding vigorously.

Something you’re excited about, CS?

3:19 - The interviewer asks “So, C*le, at the end of season 2, um, Jughead asks B*tty to be the serpent queen. What exactly is he asking her there?”

as usual, KJ’s face goes back to brooding once Lice is mentioned

but, CS’s response of “no idea” and then laughing, brings his smile back

3:29 - KJ really isn’t looking at CS, except glances here and there, and he starts mouthing along to what CS is saying.

KJ isn’t as good at it, and you can kind of hear almost an echo of CS as a result.

3:43 - KJ sees someone or something and kind of just stares at it while continuing to mimic CS.

3:50 - it seems like a person, cause KJ’s eyes follow their movements

4:03 - Okay, so it’s very likely they are looking at a person, and that person is their handler.

I don’t know why KJ spent half this interview looking at their handler, my guess is their mimicking each other thing was a bit too much

4:06 - Their handler says something like “you can ask this question and then they’re gonna be done” and CS glances at KJ, almost smugly. I wonder if this was the last interview from the press room? Cause it sure seems like they have some plan for after this.

4:16 - KJ is still mouthing everything CS says, but now he’s even paying less attention and just playing with the strings of his jeans, as he really did all day.

4:22 - KJ stops mouthing along, seems that something caught his eye.

4:25 - KJ takes out his phone and half looks at it, honestly, he doesn’t seem to even open it, maybe he’s just looking at the time.

4:32 - Luke sees KJ looking at his phone and looks at his screen with KJ

4:35 - Whatever KJ is looking at, Luke seems almost proud?

I have no idea what is going on, but it’s certainly interesting

4:55 - KJ finally starts paying attention again as CS says “and I think he’s going to be bringing in that kind of feeling to the Serpents, which is, how do we rebuild without making so many enemies and simultaneously standing our ground” KJ nods along agreeing with CS for this.

Overall, unlike some other years, while KJ’s attention was still all over the place, for the most part, he was engaged and listening to what CS was saying.

Their whole dynamic fascinates me in this video. It’s almost telepathic, in a way. They have this magnetic attention on each other.

I don’t know what was happening in most of this video, but maybe pointing out the points where something did happen will help you make sense of the whole thing.

Also, I know I said the focus, but I meant in focus. I really do love these oof photos, though. 

This is my favorite interview of CS, KJ, and Luke from SDCC18. Actually, this might be one of my favorite interviews of CS and KJ ever.

Sorry, it’s been so long since I’ve done an analysis on this account.

So, without further ado, let’s get started!

0:22 - Right off the bat, it looks like KJ is going to sit next to CS, but instead, it becomes clear he just pulled the chair out for Luke. I love this.

There is this idea that being respectful and a gentleman can only be a male for a female. I love that he did this for Luke, and just made it a general respect thing.

Also, CS kind of stares for a second realizing KJ isn’t going to sit next to him.

0:30 - CS says “I’m just trying to work on my posture” I’m not entirely sure why they do this, but KJ catches on immediately and joins in.

0:34 - KJ manages to make it a flamboyant thing, not entirely sure how, but CS seems to love it.

0:35 - Luke notices the pursing thing that KJ is doing and jokingly mimics him

0:38 - “What can we look forward to in season 3 of Riverdale?” KJ answers, “lots of shirtless scenes in the first episode.” It’s interesting. Up until SDCC18, KJ constantly complained about always being shirtless on screen, and then, at the panel, Roberto says KJ always requests to be shirtless in every scene. Either something drastically changed, or there is some PR reason that KJ is all of a sudden advocating for being shirtless more.

At the same time, CS is still doing the posture thing, and trying to get KJ’s attention back.

KJ is actually too busy focusing on the question to play along with CS. I don’t think he even notices what they are doing, honestly.

0:44 - KJ says “lots of tattoo coverage” and it doesn’t seem sarcastic, until it sounds like Luke is trying to make it more light-hearted by saying, “and that’s just for me. He’s gonna do a little bit of it too” But that still doesn’t make a hell of a lot of sense. Wouldn’t extra tattoo coverage make Roberto want less shirtless scenes?

0:54 - Now Luke gives an interesting answer “No, the guys of Riverdale are going to be driving the stories a bit more this year. It seems like a lot had to do with the ladies last year, and the engine behind the stories is gonna come from the guys, at this point, so, we’ll see” I thought this was an interesting point. S2 wasn’t driven by “the ladies” it was driven by Lizzy, unless he means that the Hiram storyline was driven by the fact that Veronica and Archie were dating, but it was still Archie’s storyline, so I’m slightly confused.

At the same time, CS drinks water, and KJ finds this really interesting for some reason. Kind of wondering what about CS drinking water gets KJ’s attention like that.

1:20 - CS says “Serpent stuff” in some voice, and it gets KJ to laugh. It’s nice to know, that even with the rules, KJ can’t keep a straight face when CS uses a voice. It shows that while a lot has changed publicly, it doesn’t seem like anything has changed privately.

1:23 - KJ adds “just a guy” about things that are up for Jughead this season, I really don’t know why, but take it as you will.

CS then adds on by saying “just a dude” again, it’s clearly an inside joke that I don’t understand.

But KJ breaks out laughing and smiling and just generally happy, so it’s something super positive I assume.

1:32 - Another voice out of CS “yes it is,” in a slightly British accent, receives a giggle out of KJ

2:07 - CS starts smiling at thinking about what Jughead gets to do this season, which causes KJ to smile as well. Luke even leans back, and they literally blur him out. I’m not sure if this is just the camera or creative license or what, but it certainly describes the situation of these interviews pretty well.

2:08 - KJ starts making a face, and then CS copies him, which makes KJ laugh.

2:17 - When the  interviewer says “So, in season 2, I feel like previously, Jughead and Archie kind of end up splitting and going into their own little factions.” KJ and CS lock eyes, and then KJ literally rolls his eyes before looking back at the interviewer. (I slowed the gif way down so you can see it)

If you weren’t sure what his thoughts were on Archie and Jughead’s separation, this should give you a good idea. 

2:23 - “and then they came back together towards the end of the season, are we going to see more of that coming up?” CS says, in their most straightforward voice “I have no idea” KJ adds “no idea. I don’t expect to” KJ and CS are both under the impression that Archie and Jughead will never ever be friends. And given the number of times they say it, and how flippant they are when saying it, it seems like their conviction has more to do with the team’s disdain for their relationship rather than anything about Archie and Jughead.

2:27 - CS says “I would love e-every single scene with KJ” KJ’s smile is really sweet when he hears that.

I don’t know if CS was exaggerating, I don’t think they were, so KJ has to lessen the impact of what CS just says, by saying “we wish we could work with each other more, but it doesn’t happen. And, when it does, we’re yelling at each other, for some reason.”

2:36 - That last sentence, for some reason, causes CS to laugh, their real laugh, the one that sounds like it should be fake that we hear so rarely these days.

2:38 - CS then goes instantly straight-faced and says “in real life too”

meaning they are always fighting in real life.

2:40 - It’s very clearly a joke and CS is having a hard time keeping the straight face (KJ doesn’t even try), but this is one of many times during the weekend that they jokingly imply they aren’t friends anymore.

This goes on way too much to mean nothing. Clearly, nothing has changed in private, and they took a road trip, where CS introduced KJ to more of the important people in their life, so it doesn’t even track that we are supposed to think that, and yet, this happens all weekend.

2:41 - Luke comes back to life at this point and looks at KJ saying “yeah” as a response to CS. 

He knows exactly what’s going on.

2:52 - CS gets his water, and looks right at KJ who is paying very close attention this time.

2:56 - KJ keeps looking while CS drinks and then CS holds back a kind of giggle while KJ keeps staring.

3:02 - KJ nods at CS when they put the water back down.

3:05 - I’m sure you haven’t noticed, cause I certainly haven’t, but Luke has been talking throughout that entire exchange. I guess KJ has been listening, cause he nods when Luke says “you gotta clean up after that dog”

3:15 - CS and KJ are trying to listen to Luke, but they stare at each other instead

3:24 - Best moment, just how in sync the three of them are.

3:38 - Luke is talking about Molly Ringwald and says “she is the mother,” and CS turns to KJ and smiles. I can’t begin to tell you why.

3:45 - The interviewer says “It was kind of nice seeing her in season 2 kind of like mom Archie a little bit and be like, you need to get yourself in line you can’t just do this, like, be crazy” and CS responds “Jughead was getting sick of being the mommy, it’s just, it was tiring, man” That, paired with KJ turning to CS when Luke said “mother” leads me to think this might have been another slightly dysphoric day. It would certainly explain why CS was so off in most other interviews.

4:14 - As Luke talks about Fred being a single father, CS stops joking around and starts really paying attention and nodding at certain places, like “I need to be more understanding than a normal dad would, you know, I think so, in order to keep the closeness, to make sure that he still trusts me” It’s easy to forget that CS was raised by a single mom and a single dad at different points in their childhood, but it’s moments like this that really remind us of that.

It’s also nice to see that KJ remembers that. He doesn’t look at Luke talking as much as CS’ reaction. It’s not with heart eyes, or anything like that, just interest and compassion.

4:27 - KJ brings up that Fred is “and mother” as well as father and friend and KJ and CS share yet another moment

And, that’s basically the whole interview!
