“They’re all pretty much the same. They all match my skin, and yours is pretty similar, so I think you’ll be good with any of ‘em. And I just wanted to see what kind I liked best.”

“Tweleve is a good age, but you know I guess that’s a point. Do you mind me asking where you’re father is? NO little girl should have to grow up without a dad.”

“He was pretty much always too drunk to take care of us, or do anything, really, so my mom divorced him. He doesn’t have any custody, so.”

“oh wow. that’s smart - i’m too impulsive for that though, you’re lucky.”

“What sorta stuff do you spend your money on?”

“that’s really impressive. does levi know about all this?”

“Yeah. He’s not that happy about it.”

“i don’t believe you. - what friend?”

“That’s not any of your business.”

“I… Uh… Do you know how to fix a broken necklace? It’s important.”

“Nope. Why?”

“they were?”

“Uh huh. A huge one.”

“A seventh grader? So let me take a guess and you’re about what eleven? Twelve maybe? I don’t know if I would want my daughter wearing make at that age. I dont even want then wearing it now.”

“I’m twelve. But my parents definitely won’t care. I don’t see my dad anymore, and my mom probably won’t even notice.”

“with what money? suddenly got a job or something huh?”

“One of my friends lent it to me.”

“how’d you manage that?”

“My friend bought it for me.”

“Wow, maybe you can do my makeup someday! What kind of things did you get? I always end up watching those makeup videos on youtube even though I never really practice it, they’re so fun to just watch” 

“Ooh, yeah, that sounds fun. ‘N I got a little bit of everything. Foundations, concealer, highlighters, eyeshadow, eyeliner, mascara. I’ve watched a few of those videos too, and that’s how I decided what stuff I was gonna buy. I went with the stuff all the Youtube professionals like.”

“wow col, how’d you afford all that?”

“They were having a sale.”

“You wear makeup from Sephora? Wow. Are you good at it?” 

“Well, most of the stuff I wore before today was from the drugstore. But I’ve been getting better at it, so I decided to splurge on some really good stuff.”

“lucky. do you have some sort of secret job i don’t know about?”

“Nope. I’ve just been saving money for awhile from birthdays ‘n Christmas and all that fun stuff.”

“i do! what kinds did you get?”

“I got two palettes from Anastasia Beverly Hills, one from Too Faced, and one Becca highlighter.”

“Oh cool. Do you think I might be able to use one of these foundations for competition makeup. I’ve run out and I know it’s expensive so I didn’t want to ask Levi.”

“‘Course you can. Which one do you wanna borrow? The Makeup Forever foundation stick, the Born This Way foundation, or the Estee Lauder Double Wear foundation?”
