The mummy’s sarcophagus, 1921.

It remains a mystery to this very day. This sarcophagus — with mummy — went on display at the Chicago Museum of Historic Antiquities in April of 1921. However, within a day of opening to the general public, the mummy inside the sarcophagus simply vanished. No trace remained of the mysterious mummy, and museum officials were at a loss as to the mummy’s whereabouts. What happened?
