Coe Art Spring 2017

I have a ton of work to do these next two weeks but I'm crazy excited for it!

I met with Josh today and he gave me some final things to think about as far as how the show should be set up. I finished the first pillow that will sit on the quilt on the bed, I have two more to make yet but I can see the finish line.

Printed on this super awesome pearl paper today during my meeting with Lucy. I luuuvvvv how the prints turned out 😍 We've been talking back and forth about what paper to put these prints on and I think our final decision was a good one. 👍🏼 now, on to matting them 👷🏼

As we all kind of are, I'm a bit behind with my tumbles so I will be posting a couple this week to catch up a bit.🚶🏼‍♀️So I met with Josh last Friday and we just talked overall about the rundown of my show and what I've been working on. We've been talking a lot about how the magazines should be and if I should include blank pages or not. I've also been spending a lot of time with this ^ thang to get ready to show you all at my crit and I'm excited for how it will look in the gallery 🤓

Yesterday I met with Josh and we discussed my critique coming up later that day. I asked about my old artwork and he suggested that I show it in my critique to get everyone's opinions. I think that I am going to show my old work after I alter it in some way to work better with my new work. Over break I plan on pouring some concrete for my fort and I'm so excited!!! I also need to get some house paint from Margret and try that out.

Had my meeting for last week with Lucy. We discussed my recent darkroom prints that I've painted on (examples pictured above). I got more paper and am going to reprint some and print more. We talked about finishing pieces on foam core and about an assortment of printing options.

Here is the start of my next piece and my fort. I've been experimenting with making the cardboard come off of the wall and I really like where this next piece is headed. If anyone has any suggestions for how to get my fort to stand, let me know!! The roof seems to be a little on the heavy side.

I met with Josh this week and he gave me some advice about my publicity photos (this is one I submitted). I also just finished my grandmothers apron, thank you to everyone who gave me your opinion on the doodle poll, I’m really happy with how it turned out. I’m getting pumped for my first critique next Monday! :)

I met with Josh on Friday, and we talked about the neon sign photoshoot I had planned for later that day (here is a photo from that shoot). I'm awaiting the neon sign I bought that still has yet to come in the mail, so I thought I would get some practice shots in. We talked about the sprinkle marquee and that will start to get built this week. 😜I asked him about how I would make cubic zirconia into a powder.. does anyone know if that would be extremely difficult or if I could do it?
