不二咲 千尋

Rain was pouring from the sky like the sky had just opened up dropping buckets and buckets of water onto the city. From the window of his apartment Chihiro watched the rubber man run around outside without a care in the world, like it wasn’t raining cats and dogs outside. Luffy in his own right was strange, from the way he talked, acted, ate, even what he could do, Chihiro had never met another person like him. He was also the first person to spark an adventurous intrigue in the programmer that had him listening to the words the other would say or the tales he would recount of his adventures. Needless to say Chihiro hadn’t enjoyed talking with someone like Luffy before he had actually met Luffy. 

Chihiro worries, worries that despite his knack for not actually getting sick, that his new friend will actually catch his death dancing around out there like that. That was why he was toeing on his shoes and grabbing his jacket from the rack by the door about to head out into the storm. It wasn’t that it looked like a lot of fun to be out there running around like a child getting soaking wet. 

Chihiro stops just at the door, barely inches before his feet would even touch the wet concrete. Out in the streets he could see that Luffy wasn’t the only one out there, no there were many others, lots of others that looked like they were having so much fun. Sabo, Nicolette, Ace, others he didn’t know the names of, there were so many people that were no doubt about it friends of his. People who probably knew Luffy a lot better than Chihiro did were surrounding him, it made him feel like there was no place for him there. Disheartened by the thought he stepped back turning to return to his room until he found himself being dragged from the dry safety of the building.

“Huh?”

He found himself immersed in the laughter and shouting, among all the playful fighting and stomping around in puddles. He came face to face with that large grin plastered on the future King of Pirate’s face, it in itself managed to drag a smile from the smaller male. Chihiro’s not with Luffy for long when his arm is seized and he’s dragged through puddles jumping and splashing around, soaking his loafers down to their poor soles. All that afternoon they spend running up and down the streets playing in the puddles until everyone’s completely drenched to the bone and on the verge of freezing at Mother Nature’s relentless assault. With everyone soaking wet and tired, the group decided to break up and return back to their respective apartments for the day.

“This was a lot of fun.” Chihiro’s still trying to control bubbles of laughter as he rubs at his bare arms, his drenched jacket hanging over one of his arms instead of on his person. “I didn’t think playing in the rain could be so much fun.” The rain over head had slacked off to a light rain as the rest of Chamomile crew headed for the building chattering among themselves leaving Chihiro with Luffy standing just outside the doors.

“Thank you Luffy.” He pushes himself up and presses a small peck to the side of the Future King of Pirates’ mouth before he can decide against it. He dips his head wiping wet bangs that stuck to his skin from his forehead. “I-I, sorry, I shouldn’t have, no I mean--....”

“H-Have a good night Luffy!” He scurries back into the building without another word.

The elder kept his attention focused at the task on hand instead of the small male at his side who tugged at the sleeve of his shirt. The claw descends down upon the unmoving targets but as it ascends again nothing is dragged up into the claw’s grasp. Its another lose that Yata suffers and another giggle that Chihiro has to muffle as he tugs at the other’s sleeve. He didn’t understand why he wanted to get something from this game so bad, but if he wanted it Chihiro would get it for him. After all they were on a date and they were supposed to both have a good time weren’t they? The lithe teen steps up with a bow of his head and a quick apology as he takes Yata’s spot in front of the claw machine. He pops a few coins into the machine and takes hold of the joystick, he moves the claw across the metal bad aiming it at the prize of that little stuffed rabbit that Yata had been aiming for. The claw descend upon the poor rabbit’s head and manages to drag it back up with it by the neck.

Chihiro feels a little bad that he got it that way, but he can’t bring himself to dwell on the those little tid bits when his prize drops into the whole and he emerges victorious. The rabbit is plucked from the dispenser and Chihiro hands it to Yata with a big accomplished smile on his face.

“How–”

“I didn’t just play around with programs all those years, I may have spent a few days now and then in an arcade. I-Its not a bad thing is it?”

Of course when Yata doesn’t agree to it, he’s relieved and smiles again.

“Oh I’m glad.” He lets out a little laugh, “Do you mind if we play a few more games together? I saw this one two player game when we first walked. Can we play that together? Oh but its getting a little late, I didn’t even realize how late it had gotten. Maybe we should just head back.”
