***ATTENTION: ARTISTS ON TUMBLR/THE INTERNET***

We all know the dangers of posting our work online. I believe we all take the risk of being ripped off, once we make our work public. That’s not to say that this is warranted! 

This person Cameron Petitte contacted me wanting to use my art on t-shirts, in return for royalty money (see above emails). I FIRMLY DECLINED this offer and explained that if I ever wanted to put my images on clothing or anything, I would DO IT MYSELF. This website/company was clearly of no interest to me. I explained I was not interested, to which he replied “you could potentially be making thousands of dollars” as they are a “pretty known brand.” Yeah ok *hairflip* 

Today I pulled up the website to show a friend this company and LO AND BEHOLD I see a t-shirt titled “Inspired Art Shirt” with parts of two of my collages Frankenstein’d together. It’s ugly af and I was livid! It is so infuriating to see my shit so blatantly ripped off with no mention of me. It is SO INFURIATING to have someone go behind your back after being declined permission. There is no excuse, and there has been no miscommunication.

I’m currently sorting this out and am super grateful to have support from my friends and colleagues/also from my school institution. A lawyer has been contacted. I wanted to make a public post about it in case this company attempts to use anyone else’s work on their products/maybe they’re already doing it and you don’t know! Please take a look, and be wary of them:

     To the boring person using my pic to catfish people in New York: I’m not mad you are using my picture on a gay hook up app and even though I do not look anywhere near 261 lbs, I can let that slide. What I cannot let slide and makes me sick to my inner core is that you thought it would be a great idea to call me Ryan. What were you trying to accomplish? What drives a person to do something so sick? On top of being lazy, do you also have absolutely no imagination? What is the most fun thing you have ever done? I can only imagine the answer is - “went to a zoo once.” 

     If this ever makes it’s way back to you, please either delete the profile out of embarrassment or change the name to something not so incredibly blasé.

Here it is folks, the first announcement for NDY2015! This year’s festival will take place October 22-25.

We’re excited to be bringing TITLE FIGHT back to Toronto. We’re also incredibly excited to host one of the single greatest hardcore punk bands in the Western World, UNA BESTIA INCONTROLLABLE, for their only North American performance this year. Not to mention FOUNDATION’s final Canadian show, France’s RIXE, Texas’ POWER TRIP, the BOSTON STRANGLER, NO TOLERANCE and many, many more.

The plan is the same - see what you want, skip what you don’t. No passes, no nonsense. And this is just a taste. In the coming weeks we’ll have more bands, a full schedule, tickets and plenty more for you to sink your teeth into. See you in October!
