REVOLUTIONARY

        “ look, i know i’m not your favorite person, “ his words are flat, he’s more tired than he cares to admit. he doesn’t get how he can be tired, androids aren’t supposed to get tired — but he is. everything was so overwhelming, everything was so much & sometimes he acted eccentrically. sometimes others didn’t like that. sometimes they reacted negatively…like now. he’d been waiting a touch too long alone, it must have been plastered across his face to get any sympathy from north. he feels something bitter & maybe even a little afraid settle in the pit of his stomach. 

he didn’t want to slip up; he was good at that, better than he cared to admit. he didn’t really want to make north regret trying to be kind, “ you don’t have to pretend to make me feel better. “

    Some teeny tiny part inside of Chester waits for him to continue. To say that he was one of those people, to say that he trusted him. But nothing followed and even if he didn’t want to hope that the other might not actually hate him, he just couldn’t help but do it anyway.

    So, instead of showing the other that he was kind of hurt, or maybe a lot hurt, definitely moderately hurt, he put on a grin, almost putting his arm around the other’s shoulders but then opting not to do that. He really isn’t in the mood to lose an arm today.

    “Is there even anyone on that list? Just one name? Just one person you trust?”

        carson regards the other, making no attempt to feign an amiable expression. he knows what chester wants --- he wants carson to go on. he wants carson to declare something about how endearing he was or about how they had made progress in what he wanted to be their friendship or anything that may indicate that they were friends... but they weren’t.

chester was nice. he was warm. he was softer than carson & carson couldn’t pretend otherwise... & he wouldn’t. chester was different & he was the sort of different that carson wouldn’t hesitate to tear to shreds given the right situation. it was endearing how hard he tried --- but past that, he couldn’t care less.  

 Green eyes peered down at Carson, sweeping slowly down over his body, taking in every single inch. The Rk900 model was the closest thing to perfection she had come across in her life. Every inch had been handcrafted for beauty and utility. The perfect cop and detective. A body meant to intimidate and seduce. Just the right amount of muscle for her. Light freckling over his body. Beautiful, rich, chocolate brown hair and icy blue eyes. The fullness and rosiness of his lips that made them almost impossible not to kiss. Physically, he was perfect, from the top of his head to his toes. This was not the first time she had stopped to admire him, nor did she think it would be the last.

  Ever since they had met and fell into bed together they had developed a bit of a pattern. Whenever the mood or urge struck them, they tended to seek the other out and spend the night together. Vivian’s own libido meant it happened with a high frequency. The only person who seems to be able to keep up with her is Carson. Likely because he isn’t human. His energy and stamina is vastly different. More infinite. The way he seemed to know exactly how to work her body with his and make every encounter enjoyable and memorable makes her come back for more every time.

  Admittedly, Vivian wanted him to herself. She didn’t like being apart from him even though they weren’t really anything but fuck buddies. Maybe friends if you stretched the definitions a little. She admired him from a technological standpoint and from a professional one. He was damned good at what he did. Still, she couldn’t help but want more. It was the only downside to this whole thing. Wanting something she knew she couldn’t really have. Admitting that she felt something, when she wasn’t even sure what she felt, would be a mistake. The last thing she wanted to do was drive him away.

  “Have I ever told you how utterly gorgeous you look like that?” She breathed, thumb caressing his jawline, as her eyes finally return to his face. “The light filtering in through the curtains in the morning? That bedhead of yours? Naked and barely covered? Complete and utter perfection.” Shifting closer, her lips brushed against his, deepening it almost immediately. It was hard to resist him.

      moments like this were rare for carson. he lived a solitary life, content with crawling into the bed of those who would have him & going home to wallow in his loneliness. he had grown to love it, in his own private way. when he was alone, no one could judge him. no one could regard him as the hunter he was, the killer he was supposed to be. he didn’t understand people --- but he knew himself. he knew the things he liked... like now. he liked the way light spilled into the room through the curtains, he liked the way vivian’s body felt next to his. he liked not retreating back to his small apartment to be alone, though he knew he would have to leave soon. 

he liked what they had; the directness of it. he liked the warmth she provided in his life. carson was cold --- carson had always been, from the moment he’d been woken up. deviancy was supposed to be a blast of life & yet... he couldn’t ever seem to take hold of it the way others could. he was distant, he could never understand his own feelings... but he could understand this. they would call one another, crawl into their beds & share a night together. when she runs her thumb along his jaw, he can’t help but think of how beautiful she was when she cried out his name.
