Daryl is definitely one of those people who gets the desperate ‘I want to go home’ feeling if he’s hurt, sick, or scared enough. It probably started when he was a kid curled up under his blanket with his eyes squeezed shut, listening to his dad kick the shit out of Merle or something. Just a stab somewhere deep in his gut that told him he wanted to go home even though he was already there. As he got older he got better at tamping it down, pretending it didn’t matter, but in his darkest moments he finds himself begging for home with tears burning the backs of his eyes. Poor thing is always searching for home, but has literally no idea what that’s supposed to feel like.
