This might sound bad, but for the last few weeks, the dread surrounding Suo’s arc has completely drained my joy in writing Suosaku. After WB211, just opening my notes to try and continue my fics makes me feel practically like throwing up when I think about where Suo is in canon right now.

It's not about him taking a darker turn. I know Nii-sensei planned from the start for Suo to become someone completely unexpected, and I respect his character development. My issue is purely as a diehard Suosaku shipper with the realization that Sakura hasn't seemed to hold any real emotional weight to Suo up to this point. And it hit me with a deep sense of sadness, and tbh betrayal.

The story has always focused on Sakura's bond with everyone else, and Suo's bond with Nirei. I know I’m being selfish, but the last thing I want is to trigger a ship war. I truly do love Sakura and other characters’ dynamic, especially Togame, and just as I love Suo and Nirei's. But a girl can still hope that Sakura, as the protagonist, will show his ass up at exactly the right time. Sooner rather than later!

I just need him to become something, anything at all, to Suo, because goddamn, I am so tired of sniffing around for crumbs of you two. Ughhh. Where will we finally get the real bond between Sakura and Suo?!! Next month? Never?!!

So… I was writing the last scene of the new chapter, and I accidentally drafted it onto the note tab where all the previous scenes had already been merged together... Don’t ask me how because I didn’t know either 😭 And it got worse because I kept writing without realizing my mistake until I went back to the note list and didn't see it. There's no way to undo it now.

I made a home for Sakura and Suo. I love how Suo always looks at Sakura with a soft and proud gaze.

I just realized the last update was nearly a month ago, but rest assured that this fic is NOT gonna be on hiatus. I’m just having a long trip that I’m not be able to write much. I’m two-thirds way there to finish the next chapter so we will meet again in two weeks! Hopefully this post will reach you and you will stick around a bit longer ♡

Since it’s gonna be another monster with estimatedly 15k words that will cover a lot of “things” so I need to make sure there will be no plot holes or grains (╯˘ -˘ )╯

Suo said, lifting the spoon to his seaweed soup. He paused, suspicious. “Hold on, Sakura-kun. I beat you in Mario Kart yesterday. You didn’t want revenge and spit in my soup, right?”

Sakura nearly choked on his breath. “Wha—! Are you stupid? You’re my friend.”

He turned red. Then, muttered, “I did add something, though.”

Before Suo could ask, Sakura shot up and bolted for the door.

“I like taller boys too, y’know,” he tossed over his shoulder, his ears reddening—and vanished down the hall.

Suo stared after him and then at the soup, spoon swirling softly. On a closer look, he saw it then. Floating in the broth, the narutomaki had been cut into tiny heart shapes.

Suo’s own fluttered in his chest.
