reworked them AGAIN but i think im finally happy with these ones (its not like i say that every time i remake my redesigns lol) 

first off, i did post this at 1am and would have probably worded a few things different in retrospect, oops! second, want to say this was absolutely not specific to any team or person– the nature of antisemitism means it’s far more pervasive. in fact, i probably shouldn’t have made it blaseball specific at all; it’s just the fandom space i’ve heavily been a part of for the past two years so it’s my current frame of reference. lastly, i’d like to reemphasize that i think it’s largely unintentional, it’s easy to miss these things if you don’t know what to look for– even i have sometimes, and this is something i’ve been studying for a large part of a decade.

so. what traits am i talking about and why does it matter??? the tl;dr is while there are no actual “jewish features” things like hooked noses, curly (often dark or red) hair, eyes with drooping lids have been used in antisemitic propaganda for centuries, predating the term itself by far. this list isn’t exhaustive, nor are these feature negative in nature on their own!! but combined with things like lack of worth ethic, cheating or being money hungry, stealing children (blood libel, y’all), it leans into these age old tropes that have meant real tangible harm and violence to jewish people, intentional or not. so that was my intent– for folks to just try and be a little more cognizant about these things bc they can sneak up on you!

Fun lil piece of my lil fan blaseball team that I created based partially on a dumb idea & partially bc me & a friend made our own league following Season 24 ending. Some of them (F. Blackburn, Peekaboo & Catmint) are partially based on the blaseball players but largely it was me taking them & running without any real ties to the existing lore because we were in some weird feelings about how it all ended.
