in the middle of starting over

peyton’s heart was beating so fast he was worried about it beating straight out of his chest. his hand remained at her cheek, pulling her face just an inch closer to his, “really..” he mumbled, his brown eyes shifting from her own to her lips, letting out a short breath before he leaned in, making it so their lips were just barely touching. the boy wanted to make sure that it was all okay with her before he actually did kiss her. peyton smiled at the thought of the two falling asleep together, he would kill to relive that day on the couch. “mmhm.” he agreed, glancing at her.

When his lips were close enough, Sabrina closed her eyes and pushed herself mentally to move closer. It took a moment to work but soon, she pressed her lips against his. It was hard for her to breathe with the amount her heart was beating. She reacher her hands up, cupping either side of his neck as she kissed him and relaxed. She pulled away after a few more moments, her eyes still closed as she reveled in the feeling that rushed over her. “Woah.”

Peyton took a breath before answering her, “because .. because I wanted it to be you. I wanted to kiss you..” he whispered, “not her..” one of his hands moved to cup her cheek, his thumb brushing against her cheekbone. his eyes shifted all over her face, taking the few silent moments to scan her face. Peyton snuck a drink from her shake, smiling over at her as he did so. the boy thought back on the memory she was referring to, another smile spreading across his lips. “we’ll do that then. finish eating then take a nap..” he nodded, now picturing the two of them squished up on the small couch together, arms wrapped around one another’s bodies in attempt to save space.

Sabrina’s heart was beating so fast she could hear the pounding in her own ears. He wanted to kiss her? As his hand moved to cup her face, she bit her lip gently. “R-really?” It was the only thing she could really say. Anything else would just come out in gibberish.  She would be lying if she said she wasn’t excited to nap with him. It gave her an excuse to cuddle close with him, feigning sleep and just relax with him.  “Sounds like a good plan...” she took a few more fries and another bite of her burger.

Peyton didn’t know what he was doing or saying, but he couldn’t stop himself, “I didn’t even want to kiss her…” he spoke, his head lifting off the blondes shoulder to look at her, their faces just a few short inches apart. ever since the whole love triangle thing started, Peyton couldn’t help but fight for Lucas to end up with maya. for selfish reasons only of course. he didn’t want to have to sit there and pretend like he liked Rowan in that way – even if it was just acting. he wanted to be able to let Sabrina know how he felt about her in more ways than just one. the boy leaned forward again, picking up a few more fries. “yeah, I might. you’re very right, in-n-out is crap when it’s cold.”

Sabrina swallowed hard, looking at him, with his face inches from hers. “But...why?” She was terrified to ask but she was just too curious. She fiddled with the bracelet on her wrist, something she did when she was nervous. She looked at his face, studying his features as she waited for him to answer her. She took another sip of her drink, as well as grabbing some fries. “I wouldn’t mind taking a nap with you. I mean, it’s not like we haven’t before.” she nodded, remembering when Corey had gotten some pictures of them on the ‘matthews couch’, taking a nap. It was actually one of her favorite pictures.

Peyton watched her as she moved, “yeah..” he trailed off, not wanting to say anything more about the topic. he hated having to kiss Rowan on screen, especially when he would turn around between takes and Sabrina would be gone. the two had made it a habit to watch eachothers scenes, if they weren’t already in them of course, so turning around to see her gone only made him feel ten times worse. "you know..“ he started, "I never.. I never liked kissing her..” he spoke quietly, not wanting to be too loud. Peyton leaned forward, grabbing a few fries to munch on as he let his words linger in the air. he smiled at the contact, shifting his eyes up to look at her. “no, I wasn’t actually sleeping.. I’d rather be with you anyways.”

It had hurt Sabrina more than she let on about not watching Peyton’s scene. She felt like, maybe she should have sucked it up and watched but she couldn’t take it. She knew Rowan wasn’t trying to hurt her and she didn’t blame her whatsoever. But that kiss still had rattled her and she hated that. When he started to speak, she stiffened slightly and after he finished, she closed her eyes. “O-oh.” She felt so stupid, for not knowing what else to say but what was she supposed to say? She took a sip of her milk shake, smiling when he said he’d rather be with her. “Well if you need to sleep you can. After we eat though, because In-n-Out is good but not when it’s cold.”

Peyton grabbed a few fries from the bag, sipping on his soda as she spoke. “oh.” he let out slow sigh, he hated it for a much different reason than the blonde sitting next to him. Peyton hated it because he was forced into a character that wanted both of them while he only wanted one. the one that they probably won’t even make him go with. he knew the severity of the tweets as he even got them himself, but he would go through their mentions sometimes just to read the tweets that they got. he followed her gestures, getting his body situated next to her on the bed. Peyton gently leaned his head down, resting it on her shoulder. “I was trying to take a nap, but i was really just watching tv.”

Sabrina leaned back against the padded headboard, taking another bite of her burger.  “Yeah. I mean, I just kinda wish they’d get it over with but I guess it gets views and ratings.” She had to admit, she got a little jealous, especially after seeing Rowan kiss Peyton. She had tried to get over it but after the second take, she had to not watch. So far, she had kept it pretty much secret except Danielle and her talked in her dressing room, and she’d ended up spilling everything. The tweets that poured in after Girl Meets Texas had hurled her into a full blown panic attack, one that Sarah had thankfully, tried to help her through.  But now she was afraid anytime a new episode came out. Thankfully, there were fans she followed that showed her the good, sending her the sweetest tweets she could receive. She rested her head against his, smiling at how familiar this felt for them. “Sorry I interrupted, Pey. You could have said you were gonna nap.”

Peyton leaned against the doorway, watching her as she sat on the bed. hmm..“ he thought for a moment, "yeah, sounds about right to me. here you go.” the boy held out the bag, laughing quietly as he walked over to where she was situated. “the new script?” he asked, gesturing to the stack of papers in her lap. Peyton began to open up the bag, handing her the correct burger just as he sat down next to her. he hadn’t actually gotten around to reading the script just yet, it was still in an envelope on his desk, but he was rather excited to hear what would be happening with the characters.

Sabrina smiled wide, grabbing the bag and taking out a few fries, as well as her milkshake. She nodded, flipping through the stack of papers again. “More Lucas, Maya and Riley drama.” she commented, flipping to the page and sighing. She wasn’t sick of the drama, she was sick of the ‘fans’ on twitter reaction to the drama. They were always going after either Rowan or herself and it was starting to get to her emotionally. She scooted over, patting the spot beside her for him to sit down taking a bite of her burger. “So what were you up to when the princess called for food?” she teased.

Peyton hadn’t been busy today, so when he got Sabrina’s text he was more than happy to go out and get her some food. it took the boy roughly about twenty minutes to drive to in-n-out and back. the massive bag of fries and burgers taunting him as he drove back home. Peyton parked his car, grabbing the bag of greasy goodness before jogging up the stairs to his best friends room. he knocked twice before pushing the door open, smiling at the blonde. “special delivery for –” he pretended to read something on the bag, “a certain beautiful, uh, princess..? yup. princess. know anyone that sounds like that?” he asked, raising his eyebrows while keeping a straight face.

Sabrina sat on her bed, music playing in thebackground as she read the script for one of the new episodes, sighing softly. She had been going over it all day but couldn’t seem to memorize a thing. So when she had texted Peyton and he agreed to bring her dinner, she couldn’t say no. She heard the knocks before she saw his face and smiled at him, a little wider after the princess comment. “Hmmm.” Her finger tapped at her chin, as if she were thinking. “Is this princess about 5 foot? Blonde hair? Addicted to coffee?” she asked as if describing herself. She spied the bag and grinned at him. “Cause if so, yep, that’s me.”
