Day 40 in the Parallel Universe

USS Enterprise

Frustrated.

I'm assigned to duty in the cargo bay. Checking shipments, reviewing cargo manifests, and so on.

I hate this ship. I hate this universe.

Dinner was vegetable casserole. That might be an effective way to torture a Caitian, but it is not something anyone should be expected to eat!

No progress on Lorca. No progress on the Discovery. Both have vanished as if they were never there.

Day 25 in the Parallel Universe

USS Enterprise

I have arrived on the Starfleet vessel I am assigned to and reported for duty.

Good grief, what an ugly thing! Orange on the bridge, yellow uniforms. Ugh. I sincerely hope I never see Lorca wearing something like this.

I've spent some time familiarizing myself with the ship's computer. A Captain Lorca disappeared after the Battle at the Binary Stars and was declared dead. There are no records of anything my Lorca ever told me, and apparently, a USS Discovery never existed.

Strange.

Day 20 in the Parallel Universe

Starfleet Headquarters

They're finished with me.

Since they have no way of sending me back, they've decided to integrate me into Starfleet. They want me to swear an oath. Hah. If that's all it takes. Admission to the Terran Fleet is paid for in blood.

I'm being assigned to a ship called the USS Enterprise. It's captain is a human named Pike.

I did a little digging. That ship - and its supposedly fearless captain - managed to sit out the entire Klingon War.

Fine by me.

Day 10 in the Parallel Universe

Starfleet Headquarters

What they call Starfleet is a laughable collection of tiny little ships armed with little more than toothpicks.

They interrogated me. At least that's what they called it. Apparently, they've never heard of Agonizers, or any other effective method of persuading someone to talk.

Selling them my story was easy enough: explosion, a blast, woke up on Prior's World, no memory of what happened.

These people take themselves incredibly seriously.

But they do have nice badges.

Black.

I can picture Lorca wearing one of those.

Day 4 in the Parallel Universe

A Ferengi trading vessel picked up my distress signal and brought me aboard.

These cutthroats are no different in this universe. They expect me to pay for my rescue! Well, they’re about to find out who they’re dealing with.

They’re taking me to something they call Starfleet Headquarters.

Day 2 in the Parallel Universe

"Thirty-six hours since Stamets' machine spat me out into the snow on Prior's World. Freezing cold, nothing to eat. And a light that drills straight through your eyes.

I found the ice cave Lorca told me about, but there's no sign of him. Maybe he ended up somewhere else this time.

Decision: I need to get off this planet."

(She takes out her communicator and activates a distress signal.)
