Ember.

[ bailee madison | she/her | 21 ]  rumor has it that EMBER KENNER has been seen wandering around town. they are a WEREWOLF/VAMPIRE HYBRID who is one of the SURVIVORS. they are known to be IMPATIENT but deep down they are EBULLIENT. when it comes to the brewing conflict in new orleans they’re on the side of THE QUEEN’S GUARD.

       Knuckles rapped against the hard wood of the door that separated the pair, head leant against the frame as a soft sigh eased from his lips, waiting impatiently for Ember to reveal herself before finally the lock began to click and the door pulled open. Sapphire hues instantly widened as the she-wolf came into view, breath hitching in the back of his throat and brows rose. ❝ Wow, ❞ Noah hummed, quickly clearing his throat as his hand rose to rub at the back of his neck. ❝ You look- I mean- Wow- You’re incredible. I mean you look incredible. ❞

       ember was taking far longer than necessary to get ready for hope’s coronation, but she figured as the queen’s best friend and right hand, it was only appropriate that she look her best. besides, this was the first party she’d attending since her transition to a hybrid and there was a newfound confidence surrounding the blonde that she was taking advantage of. 

hearing the knock on the door, ember called out to the person on the other side without even knowing who they were. ❝ just a minute! ❞ the hybrid exclaimed, fluffing her hair a bit in the mirror and giving herself a final once over before deciding that she was ready to go. making her way over to the door, ember pulled it open and the male on the other side immediately brought a smile to her face. ❝ hey you. ❞ she hummed sweetly, a blush falling against her cheeks in response to his compliment. ❝ are you sure it’s not too much? ❞

❝ hi momma. ❞ the soaking wet hybrid greeted with a slight giggle as her mother opened the door. ❝ it wasn't raining this morning when i left, but this fucking storm came out of nowhere and your house was closer than the compound. i hope you don't mind me just popping by? ❞ she called out softly, stepping inside the house. // @cflostsouls

❝ yes it's blood; no it's not mine. ❞ ember told her brother without hesitation. she knew that the fact that she was a vampire was still something her brother was getting used to, but she wasn't about to hide the truth from him anymore. ❝ that's the thing about us vampires, cassie -- we gotta feed. ❞ // @insolentsoul

hearing her brother's comment, ember couldn't resist the urge to aggressively roll her eyes. ❝ and that right there is why you are my annoying as fuck twin brother and not just my twin brother. ❞ she told him in a teasing yet annoyed tone. ❝ what the hell are you even over there blabbing about anyways? ❞ // @insolentsoul

❝ i know. ❞ ember hummed confidently as she looked up at her father. ❝ are you really surprised though? i've been a daddy's girl pretty much my entire life. ❞ // @involuntarysin

after the lengthy and heartfelt conversation that ember and tara had, the hybrid found herself too exhausted to travel back to the compound and had asked her mother if it was alright for her to sleep in the room that she still had from when she was a kid.

the wakeup call that she received the next morning was an unexpected ( but welcomed ) one. feeling the tap against her nose, ember slowly opened her eyes to see her mother sitting on the edge of the bed. ❝ morning momma. ❞ she spoke with a voice that cracked. // @cflostsouls

❝ relax uncle wes. ❞ ember mused, gently shaking her head in response to her uncle's words. ❝ it's just a scratch. there's no need to go all protective mode on me. ❞

❝ no one. ❞ ember told her cousin sternly. ❝ the last thing that i need is aunt corey on my ass because i brought you into my bullshit. besides -- i'm a hybrid now, ari. if anything, i'm the one that should be protecting you. ❞ // @ofxspitfire

       ❝ i appreciate you saying that, really. we both know i can be a little too hard on myself sometimes and i tend to let the negatives overtake the positives. ❞ the hybrid admitted honestly, looking over at her friend. ❝ i was gonna say, surely there’s a handful of other ❛ hybrid lessons ❜ left to learn. ❞ // @thefirsttribrid 

       it was no secret that ember didn’t always enjoy the movies that casper chose for them to watch. what she did enjoy however was spending quality time with her twin brother, and for that she would suffer through whatever movie he decided to put on. 

       she wasn’t sure how far she’d actually gotten into the movie before falling asleep, but she had clearly been asleep long enough that her twin had chosen to pull a blanket over the both of them. the shifting of the weight on the couch had woken ember, but she wasn’t upset about it. ❝ it’s my hidden talent. ❞ the blonde hummed quietly in response, her eyes never opening. // @insolentsoul​ 

       a heavy sigh fell from ember’s lips as her father enclosed the distance between them and used his finger to tilt her chin upwards, making the black eye and busted lip she was sporting that much more visible. ❝ and that right there is exactly why i don’t want to tell you who did it. ❞ the blonde mumbled softly, her eyes falling upon her father’s. ❝ i already know how that sentence ends. ❞ // @involuntarysin​ 

anyone that knew ember well knew that she could be a bit of a drama queen -- and who, pray tell, did she get it from? her father, of course. cameron was known to be a tad bit dramatic himself. perhaps that was why he was making such a big deal of ember's minor injury.

❝ daddy, i love you -- but don't you think you're going a bit overboard? ❞ the hybrid questioned, laughing softly as her father lifted her leg to tuck a pillow underneath it. ❝ it'll be healed in a couple hours max. the benefit of being a vampire, remember? ❞ // @involuntarysin
