The North Dakota-based store [‘Que Interesante’] is selling sets of crayons that have chemistry labels instead of color labels. Each element is matched to a color, allowing kids to passively learn all the complicated scientific names as they engage in a fun activity.
And how exactly did they match the elements to their respective colors? The shop used the ‘flame test’, wherein elements are detected based on the hue of the flame produced. For instance, Titanium produced a purple blaze, while Ruby emitted – well – ruby.
