I think one unfortunate effect of religion being so standardised and so strict on its rules and regulations is that the people have stopped being able to see religion as a creative medium as easily as we did in the past. There is now no way of adding into the canons of several religions as they’re considered fully written and complete, it’s believers only told to devote themselves in it and not to add their own ideas into it as that would be an interference of the holy canon.
