Egg muffins are a great way to prepare a weekβs worth of breakfasts at once. All you have to do is chop, distribute and let it bake, I made these southwestern themed but you could add absolutely anything you normally like in your omelette! Theyβre portable, delicious, healthy and completely customizable!
For an easy breakfast try grabbing one of these along with a yogurt and piece of fruit! They also make great on the run afternoon snacks. :)

Running is popular because it is accessible to mostly anyone, you donβt need to have a gym membership to run! Plus it gives you great results. Getting into running isnβt a walk in the park though (haha get it?) however there are some things youΒ can do to make running better for you.Β
Before running:
Eat an hour or so before working out, preferably something with complex carbs. This will help you keep energized during your run.Β
Drink water through out the day or morning before you run. You dont want to become dehydrated while running.Β
STRETCH. Make sure you stretch before hand so that you dont end up pulling anything. I like to do a short session of yoga before I go running because it is a good warm up and gets my muscles ready.
Β Find a route or set a goal. If you plan on running outside find a route that you like, you can google your city and running paths. If you are running inside on treadmill then set a goal for yourself as to how much you want to walk/run.
During Run:Β
Listen to music that keeps you pumped up! this will make the time go by faster and its just fun lol.Β
Set small goals. If I am running outside then I like to set small goals like βokay im going to run to that tree over there and not stop on the wayβ then I just focus on the tree and then take a break.
Start off slow! you will not be able to run 3 miles non stop if this is the first time you run. Start off with a walk then run combo and increase your time every time you run.Β
After Run:
Cool down by walking.Β
Keep hydrated.
Stretch again.Β
Cool Things To Have as a Runner:Β
Really good running shoes. You should always have good running shoes but sometimes its good to splurge a bit on shoes to motivate you to go out.Β
A water bottle with a handle on it. I got mine at a sporting goods store. It allows me to strap the bottle to my hand so I can run easily with it.Β
APPS! There are SO many cool apps for running! My favorite ones are: Zombies,Run! , C25K and map my run.
ipod/phone armband. This keeps you from having to hold them in your hand.Β
Fitbit or Heart Rate Monitor. These will help you see your progress.Β

Coffee
I was never a coffee drinker until about March 2012. Now I love it and drink it nearly every day. I even bought a nespresso machine in December. How many coffees do you drink a day?

WEEKLY UPDATE
So it was my first week back to work. The healthy food was very rare this week! Lunchtimes were just too hard to think about and plan.
I joined the gym with a friend and have been going to a body balance class on Thursday afternoons. This has been good to stretch out and feel good about myself! I really need to step it up next week and go to the gym 3 times. We did a PT session last night that was pretty good.
Thinking of doing a detox week... just to feel better about myself ... feeling sluggish.
Found a boot camp challenge on someones wall ... might give it a go.
there are ALWAYS healthier alternatives. make the right choices & your body will thank you.
