~Bed Time Tips~
——Bed Time Routine Idea——
Weekdays/School Nights
{in order to function well at school we need to get into good bed time habits like sleeping at a reasonable time and keeping up our hygiene}
~6:30pm: Have a shower/bath~
~7:00pm: Get changed and do your skincare routine after you shower!~
~7:25pm: brush your teeth~
~7:30pm: Do a calming activity to help you wind down before bed~
~8:00pm: If you have sleeping meds make sure to take them at the right time, climb into bed, turn your lights out and get ready for a relaxing night’s sleep~
~Things to help you sleep and calm down for bed!~
• Drinking Tea- drinking tea before bed can really calm you down especially camomile tea, although my personal favourite is peppermint tea! 🍵
•Reading a Book- read a book that you know is relaxing and won’t keep you up all night.📖
•Sleeping Medication- this option is NOT available for everyone, if you have serious trouble sleeping make sure to see a doctor and maybe get some melatonin to help you sleep at night. Remember to only use a sleeping medication if you are prescribed!! I personally use melatonin to help me sleep at night and it usually takes 30 minutes to make me tired so depending on what you’re prescribed with try and have it a bit before your scheduled ‘sleep time’. 💤
•Watching Stimboards- stimboards always calm me down whenever i look at/watch them so i definitely do recommend!! 🧸
•Turn Off Electronics- electronics can actually be one reason you stay up too late and it’s because of the light. So be sure to turn them off before sleep time!📵
•Yoga/Meditation- practicing light yoga or meditation can really help lower your stress levels before bed!🧘♀️
•Dim The Lights- we don’t want it to be too bright in the evening!🔅
•Write Down Your Thoughts- writing down your thoughts can really help lower stress levels!✍️
