"I guess you're right," he said. "...maybe I should take March 7th's advice and try something new."
"No waaaaay! That's so cool! Wow! I was wondering how you were committing to the character so hard without meaning to! That's craaaaazy! Turns out it was totally flipped!" She was once again staring at him with wonder, but now in an appreciation for him as a person rather than his canine parallel.
"I think they were gonna go with a lizard or something but then it wouldn't really be 'The Fluffy' so they went with the dog. I think it suits you though! So cool!"
"I guess me being the only one with any sort of animal features doesn't much matter if it breaks the brand." His eyes went to the various people walking by them.

"Wait you sound like such a fun guy!" She loved people with experiences to share! Specially since she didn't get out much, not off planet at least.

"I'm the security guard and archivist for the Astral Express," he added. "So I guess that character is based off me. I... wouldn't have gone with a canine, though."
"Waaaait your friends are in the games?! That's supes crazy! I've never met a supplicant before!" Yumi was too young to really remember anything about the last Phantasmoon games, at least any of the important things, mostly just the tragedy that took place.
"No reason you can't still enjoy your time! I'd say now's the best time to have a vacay! So much action! But I'm learning there are people who kinda prefer to just chill out for vacation."
"Not really crazy, considering all we've been through." He had about twelve million stories to tell, 80% of which occurred after Caelus joined the Express.
A pause, and then, "My name is Dan Heng, by the way."
"The characters are like, all super iconic!" Part of what he said seemed to have completely blown over her head. "March Bunny is my favorite, but Baseball Raccoon is like the most marketable! But the Woof Woof Dan fans are some of the most steadfast and loyal, just like his character!"
She gave him a big grin, pushing past the initial awkwardness with ease, "I love the series a lot, I wish I could go on adventures just like them. Oh, what are you doing on Planarcadia? One of the folks in town for the Phantasmoon Games? Oh! Wanna hang? I have the feeling we could totes get up to some fun together!"
Would it really be a visit to a new planet without at least one person wanting to drag him around and show him the sights? Probably not. He was used to it by now.
"A couple of my friends are in the games, yes," he said. "We were originally visiting for vacation."
Yumi froze at his total cluelessness towards her outburst, did she just make a total fool of herself? Did she just like, totally insult someone?
"Uh...Woof...Woof Dan...from 'Fluffy Across the Blue'? He's a cool and quiet dog...uh...he's just really cool...I thought you were dressing like him."
"...oh, that." He'd seen it around considering how popular it was in Planarcadia, but most of what he knew was taglines from billboards. "No, I'm not." A pause, as he considered. "I guess the artists did a good job recreating us if it's that easy to recognize, though."
Yumi spotted @cloudpiercinghunter!
"Ohmigosh! Wait wait! I know you! Wait you're totally Woof Woof Dan! I looooove your take on his gijinka!" Yumi oo'ed and aw'ed at Dan Heng's whole look, thinking him to just be a cosplayer.
A long pause, as he just stared at her for about as long as you'd expect from Dan Heng.
"I'm... who?" he finally asked.

"Yeah. I spent a long time walking around, but the best part of seeing somewhere new is getting to talk about it with friends." She looked between them both. Even when they weren't all next to each other, they were at least able to text or talk on the phone.
"It's also really, really hard to go shopping when the vendor can't see you and you can't pick anything up to look at it."
Dan Heng paused at that, thinking.
"...would we even be able to take anything physical out of Amphoreus?" he asked. "Things can go in, but we have yet to see evidence of things going out."
"Doesn't mean we can't still go shopping," Caelus said.
"And what if you get so sick you can't even play video games huh?" She wagged a finger. "We need to get you one of those trash picker arms to use instead of stuffing yourself in silly."
"That's not as fun, though." Caelus easily fell into step with the other two like they hadn't just spent months apart. "Where are we going?"
"March wanted to have a look around, now that she can interact with people. We're just seeing what's going on."
“Very true. I think we deserve a really nice long vacation after four crazy missions. No one sticks back on the train either. We all go out and enjoy it.” She gave his arm a hug.
Following his gaze, March slowly shook her head. Yet she couldn’t help but smile. “Our little raccoon at it again.” At least this sort of trouble was minimal. “Heeeeeeeeeey, finding anything interesting in there?”
Caelus had been so focused on digging that he hadn't heard them approached, and he jolted in surprise enough to tumble the can over.
Dan Heng sighed as their friend crawled out, and he held a hand out. "You're going to get sick, digging through the trash like that."
"...if I'm sick, I can stay in my room and play video games, though."
"Ah, no no please don't misunderstand. I'm most in love with my darling when he's exploring his passions. He can just get a little...too focused. I'll just have to be extra careful with making sure he gets food and sleep. Believe me, I was already used to this by the time we got married."
She felt a bit embarrassed, being so easily read like that. She shook her head, trying to both clear her thoughts and assure Dan Heng that he wasn't overstepping.
"Honestly I'm looking forward to hearing you two chat, and an excuse to try out some new recipes of my own too!"
"I see." He considered that as he stood.
"I should probably go find my friend to make sure he's not getting into too much trouble." Because Caelus got into the weirdest shit when he went off on his own.
He paused, and then, "Oh. By the way. I've heard some of the animals around the Grove talking about you. They said they like you. In case you were ever wondering."
"Ohhh, did that keep catching on?" She giggled. "Hmmm I dunno, maybe I should keep that as a secret identity. It sounds like the perfect name for fighting crime by night.... although I guess they don't really have night here do they?"
"All the time stuff is confusing. The loops, the differences between here and reality. Our brains are going to be so mushy when we all get back to our actual bodies."
"To be fair, our brains are usually 'mushy' when we get back from an expedition. At least since Caelus joined." He couldn't recall most of them ever being this long or dramatic.
"Speaking of." His gaze went right to a trash can, with a familiar torso sticking out of it.

"One of those older than you look types? Like Lady Aglaea." she probably shouldn't treat him like a kid then, or...was he like Lady Tribios? And liked being treated like a kid?

"You both got up to so much, like way way more than all of our past adventures combined probably."
"Well, I'm sure people will be happy to finally meet their 'rosy celestial maiden.'" His voice, on the surface, was as flat as ever, but March knew him well enough to pick up on that hint of teasing.
"It's pretty easy to fit more into an expedition when the time is different from the outside. We thought we were here for months, while outside, it wasn't even a day, it seems."
