Build your own hookah table!

Smoking your hookah while it sits on the coffee table can be risky endeavor, especially when you’re with a group. There’s always going to be the retard who tips it over or knocks a burning coal off the bowl. Avoid the problem entirely with your own custom-designed Hookah Table.

Built for four users, the Hookah Table is extremely unique in that it disguises the hookah pipe on three sides of the table so that you can choose who gets to see it. Similar to a multi-chambered bong “the smoke first enters the water chamber from the bowl then travels into the main chamber, where you will see the chamber fill up. From this point the smoke travels out the end into the hookah hoses.”

Clean the hookah after every use

Run warm water through the hookah hose, clearing all residue left behind from the previous smoke.

Rinse out the hookah vase (you can use lemon juice as well as baking soda with warm water in combination with a base cleaner to provide a more thorough cleaning.)

Run warm water through the hookah stem, using a stem cleaner to clear any excess tobacco that has fallen through the bowl as well as smoke residue that has planted itself on the inner walls of the stem.

Wash the hookah bowl with warm water. Clear all burned shisha tobacco off the inner lining of the bowl as well as the inside were some of it might have fallen through.

Use fresh shisha tobacco

Once you open your shisha tobacco it will only stay moist for a few days under normal conditions.

Putting your shisha into an air-tight jar will keep it moist for a few weeks longer, but even then it will still dry out.

By mixing your dry tobacco with honey or molasses you can recreate that "moist" consistency it once had.

Change the water after every use

Dump out the old water.

Clean the hookah vase with warm water, lemon juice, baking soda, and the help of a vase brush.

Change the hookah hose

Every hookah hose experiences wear and tear, but how much wear in tear is too much?

After 30 or so uses the inner lining of the hose as well as the inside of the wooden ends starts to wear down and deteriorate.

As a continuation of the last post featuring how to make new shisha flavors, this post is going to focus on other delicious liquids to fill your base with to enhance your hookah experience.

Always keep the majority of your base contents water, with some few exceptions. Water works as the filter system.  Fruit juice base like guava and orange make for a fruitier taste when combine with grape, melon, etc. Tablespoon of baking soda in the base with ice water will make it smoother. For minty flavor without mint tobacco just add a little Listerine or Metromint Water into the base. Milk in the base makes the smoke thicker and smoother.

If you are tired of the same old out of the can flavors, try spicing things up and combining flavors. Here are a few recipes that have worked for us.

Peaches and Cream Equal parts of peach shisha and vanilla shisha creates a peaches and cream taste that is to die for! You can also either add more of either type to create a more peachy taste or cream taste. You can also replace the peach with blueberry, strawberry or Orange.

Root Beer Float Double parts Root Beer shisha and one part vanilla. Always put more Root Beer shisha than vanilla.

Warm Apple Pie Two parts double apple shisha and one part cinnamon shisha. You can also sometimes add apple juice to my water base with a soaking cinnamon stick to intensify the flavor.

Raspberry Mint Chocolate Milk Double parts raspberry shisha, and equal parts of chocolate and vanilla. Refreshing Summer's Day Equal parts lemon and mint shisha. Add actual slices of lemon into the water base or squeeze a bit of lemon juice into the water base for added flavor. You can even throw some fresh mint leaves into the water base to intensify it all3 parts

The Vine This is a really strong recipe for the serious hookah smokers. Take white/red wine and pour it into the vase instead of the water, it might turn out strong, if you prefer a lighter approach, choose grapefruit juice. In the bowl add some grape tobacco

For those new to smoking, and even some of you who are seasoned Hookah smokers; there are a few polite rules one should keep in mind. After all, Hookah isn't just a past time, it is a deep tradition of many Eastern cultures.

- Always pass the hose with the mouthpiece pointed away from the next person. It's considered respectful in Middle Eastern cultures.

-Avoid placing your Hookah on top of a table. Besides it being a potential fire hazard, it's also the equivalent of saying "kiss my..." in Syria.

-When finished smoking, wrap the hose around your Hookah. It's the traditional way to signal you're done.

-DO NOT to light a cigarette from the hot coals on a Hookah, it is very disrespectful in certain Middle Eastern countries.

STEP 1: Separate the glass base from the stem. While some Hookahs have stems that screw into the base, others attach using a rubber sleeve which you will need to twist and pull to separate. Sometimes adding water around the rubber sleeve helps get it apart.

STEP 2: Fill the glass base with cold water. If available, mix in ice for a cooler smoke. When reattaching your stem, the bottom should submerge only 1 to 1.5 inches in the water. Reattach the stem to the glass base. Make sure the fit is snug and air-tight with a rubber grommet. Then attach your Hookah hose (using a grommet to make sure it is air-tight). Place the Hookah tray on top of the stem.

STEP 3: Pinch and sprinkle some Cloud 9 tobacco in your bowl (don't let the tobacco amount reach over the top of the bowl). Create a pencil-width hole in the center of the tobacco to help get the air flowing.

STEP 4: Wrap foil over the top of the bowl and make small holes in a cylindrical fashion using your poker. When done, place the bowl on top of the stem and make sure it is air-tight with a grommet.

STEP 5: Double check all attaching parts of your Hookah - hose, bowl and stem - ensuring they are firmly connected and air-tight using rubber grommets. (Place your hand on top of the Hookah's bowl and then inhale through the hose. You should feel a pull at your hand and see bubbles in the water. If not, you most likely have an air leak).
