Cloak and Dagger AU: Baby New Year
Despite the freezing temperatures outside, Tandy was surrounded by the warmth of their bedroom of their tiny little row home in New York. There was a stillness in the air as she lay in bed, looking out at the fresh blanket of snow on the landscape outside. The sun was slowly peeking over the trees, a new day in the new year. The sound of light snores took her from her trance and down to the baby resting on her chest, he still smelled new, fresh, with that newborn scent that lulled her into the calm state she was currently in. While others spent the night in the city, she and Tyrone stayed home and welcomed their son into the world. It had been in the best interest to have the baby in the safety of their home, no one was sure how Tandy’s powers would react and it was a good call in the long run, since she lit up the living room like a glowstick.Â
A smile escapes her lips when the baby gives a yawn and Tyrone shifts behind her, his chest softly rising and falling, letting her become aware that she was the only awake one in this room right now. After everything she had been through, she should be the one asleep in the bedroom, but not the living room based off the sound of movement she heard. Evitia had flown out to help with the birth along with Nico and Karoline, just to make sure that everything would go smoothly. Children weren’t on Tandy’s life list though, if you’d ask her nine months ago about having children, she would have laughed in your face. Right now though? Well, she was currently in a state of bliss brought on by the tiny human that was now looking up at her with large, dark eyes.
Tandy smiles, softly running a finger along his soft, plump cheeks. “Hey little man,” She whispers softly. “Happy New Year.” She gives a small laugh at his little stretch. “You picked a hell of a night to come into this world, I mean right after Christmas? Do you have any idea how much stress your birthdays are going to bring?” His curious eyes are still on her, blinking as he studies her. “Doesn’t matter though, me and your daddy already love you so much.”
“He’s up?” Tyrone’s asks, voice groggy, chapped lips kissing the top of her head. “Morning little guy.”
“You know,” Tandy sighs while settling into Tyrone’s chest. “He needs a name, we can’t keep calling him little guy. I was thinking William, Billy for your brother.”
Large arms cross over her torso and she feels him rest his chin on her shoulder. She smiles when she feels his smile against her skin. “I really, really like that. I think that Billy would have liked that too. Welcome to the world, Little Billy Johnson.”
She laced her fingers with his turning her head to place a light kiss on his lips. “Happy New Year, Tyrone Johnson.”
Tyrone chuckles as he touches his forehead to hers. “Happy New Year, Tandy Johnson.”
