Cloud took a sip of his drink that he had been nursing for a while, the ice long since melted. “I wonder if Tifa would be jealous knowing I was opening up to you like this.”
Aerith was about to take another bite of her sandwich, but paused at the mention of this curious word. “Jealous?”
Cloud shifted his gaze downward and became very interested in his drink. “Yeah.” He struggled to make eye contact as the words came out. “She knew I had a crush on you.”
Aerith set her plate off to the side at a nearby table. She suddenly was no longer interested in her sandwich anymore. Her hunger seemed to magically fade away. “You did?”
