Adorno nach seiner Rückkehr aus dem Exil, »aber man hat noch immer das Gefühl, daß alles möglich wäre.« Die finstere Seite dieses Wirklichkeit gewordenen Möglichkeitssinns hat wohl niemand so unbarmherzig beschrieben wie der heute vergessene Wiener Publizist Ferdinand Kürnberger, der amerikanischen Boden freilich nie betreten hat.

Was Adorno mit diesem »größten politischen Schriftsteller, den Österreich je gehabt hat« (Karl Kraus), verbindet und von ihm trennt, untersucht Mikrologie des leblosen Lebens. Theodor W. Adorno liest Ferdinand Kürnberger (Praesens Verlag, 2025).

Präsentiert wird das Buch am 10. Dezember 2025 am Institut für Wissenschaft und Kunst in einer Kooperationsveranstaltung mit der Österreichischen Gesellschaft für Exilforschung, begleitet von einem Podiumsgespräch mit der Literaturwissenschaftlerin und Kraus-Kennerin Isabel Langkabel (Wienbibliothek).
