Warlock finds Cyclone's work personality incredibly amusing because it's so different to what he's like at home

Warlock is the gossip. He tells Cyclone everything that is harmless and won't hurt anyone, like "Seresin watched Bradshaw eat an apple with unwavering eye contact at lunch"

Cyclone pretends not to be interested but he also finds it amusing

Cyclone remembers anniversaries and dates with lethal accuracy, Warlock's the one that brings home roses at the last minute

(this ones just my own funsies head cannon lmao) Cyclone thought he was aromantic for most of his life and was very content being alone before meeting Warlock in 2012. He still think he might be, Warlock's the only person he can see himself with.

They believe in similar values but don't always agree on things in politics/in the Navy and know that sometimes they will have to go head to head over things at work but try not to let it affect their home life. E.g Warlock was a lot more sympathetic to Maverick during the events of TGM where as Cyclone had to be more focused on the mission

Driver gives little smiles in place of words and the part of me that doesn’t know how to communicate feels seen by that. Other characters’ acceptance of his silence genuinely feels so refreshing—like I wish real life was like that. And that’s not to mention that Driver is a SAD character. He’s cast out and I feel like a lot of autistic people can resonate with those feelings of alienation.

The thing that reels me in most I think is that he’s not a bad guy. Despite being in those dude bro sigma lists, Driver doesn’t really fall in with those characters. He never speaks ill on his woman or his boy. Never hits them. On the contrary, everything he does is FOR them. Others’ crimes are their lack of humanity whereas Driver’s is his abundance of it. He’s so passionate it hurts. And maybe it speaks to the whole strong sense of rules and morality that some autistics have, but I feel that so much.

trinity is not used to aftercare. with yolanda, it might be a glass of water and the opportunity to use the shower but after that, it’s backs turned and the expectation that she leaves quietly and discreetly.

she assumes that’s what baran would want too. after all, she’s an attending. she can’t be seen with a resident.

so, when trinity spends the night at baran’s and quietly sneaks out once she falls asleep, she assumes this is how they’re going to go. out of the frying pan, into the fire, or however the stupid saying goes.

she’s not massively mad about it.

baran doesn’t have neighbours that watch her through a crack in the door or a doorman to do the walk of shame past nor do her floorboards creak when she’s tiptoeing down the hallway. no, her place is much easier to sneak out of.

that being said, she lives a lot further away from trinity’s apartment than yolanda does and it’s too late for ubers to be a reasonable price so she toughs it out and walks it, crashing the minute she gets through the door.

it’s fine. it was worth the evening.

the real trouble is when she gets to work.

trinity assumes it’ll just be another standard we-pretend-we-are-colleagues-and-nothing-else act that she’s used to. a lingering glance here and there perhaps, maybe a nod layered with something behind their eyes, but nothing more. baran’s a private, professional person, even more so than yolanda.

which is why she’s surprised when baran walks into the er with red-rimmed eyes, frazzled hair and a worried look on her face that says she hasn’t slept all night.
