Okay okay the thing with Starstruck is that it has to be toxic. At least in my mind.
Because Tom Ryder is not a good person, he’s narcissistic and he takes what he wants. Ryland Grace is… sort of a coward. And he’s really bad at reading people.. like not realising he’s the second in command after going to several important meetings level of bad. My idea is that Grace is unaware that he’s on the aroace spectrum when he dates Tom. And Tom can be a bit pushy. Do you see where I’m going with this?
So yea, Grace doesn’t understand why he doesn’t want to keep going so he just deals with it until he finds out about Tom’s well.. attempted murder of his twin. And only then does he break it off.
Grace only realises much later, when he’s with Simon who asks for explicit consent before anything sexual, that he just doesn’t feel arousal as often if at all.
