I may not have been active here in 8 years or so, but man I'm still annoyed by people in the classpect tag writing shit like "void is when there's secrets", or taking inversion as obviously true. Or any of that kind of thing.
It does make sense that things have stagnated. This is a hobby to get into for relatively short, nostalgic bursts of time, so who's talking is always shifting.
Still a shame that ideas have settled this way, though.

I got inspired by a theory I found from this post however I disagreed with some of their choices...so I made my own version of an aspect breakdown.
Space is divided into Start and Place, which is further divided into Stir and Flux for the former and Scope and Vast for the latter. Stir was inspired by the primordial soup from which all life began and flux was honestly due to my playing overwatch too much but also has to do with gravity itself. Scope and Vast kind of go hand in hand and deal with spatial dimensions.
Time is split into Stream, for the flow of time itself. The MSPA reader saying that "time is like a river" gave me this idea. Eon is the other half of time. Stream breaks down into Hint to represent how any moment can cause an entire timeline to diverge into an offshoot, and into Trend which signifies how once a timeline becomes doomed things just get worse and worse. Eon goes into Bide since we've always had moments where we've had to bide our time, and Stop because once a timeline is over, it's done.
Light is divided into Bright and Lot. Bright is then divided into Flash and Warm which are really self explanatory. Lot (as in "casting lots") is broken into Grasp (as in grasping information) and Odds (they can be good or bad)
Void is broken down into Still (like the still puddle in the image) and Dark. Still then turns into Depth and Hide. Dark turns into Fog and Shade. I feel these are self explanatory, but if anyone wants me to go into them, I'm open to any questions.
Life is Grow and Romp. Grow becomes Sprout (who hasn't noticed tiny little green shoots out of the ground when spring comes?) and Pluck (for who but the young are so full of energy and Life?) Also good for a reference to the webcomic itself (lad/lass scamper, pluck). Romp (a word for playing or being at play) turns into Wild and Vim. Animals play all the time and life keeps going even after we try and tear it down.
Doom becomes Curb and Grind. Curb (think like how the curb keeps a car from crashing into innocent pedestrians) turns into Rule (for rules and laws keep us from running Wild-get it?) and Yield (for we all must submit to things we don't want to do for the greater good). Chose the picture of the stigmata because well tbh I am still a Christian and because it fits. Grind (like how gamers grind to get better at what they do) goes down into Sift (sifting the good from the bad) and Trim (as in trimming overgrown leaves and branches).
Breath is Move and Sound. Move then is Rush (running so fast you can feel the wind on your face) and Lift (because then you can fly). Sound becomes Din (the noise, noise, noise) and Tell (because sound and thus voices carry through air).
Blood is diluted (get it? cause it's liquid?) into Yoke ("we are equally yoked") and Trust (in order to accomplish bigger things). Yoke turns into Serve and Vow. I know that marriage vows aren't the only kind of vow, but I thought the picture fit best. Trust turns into Touch and Lead.
Heart (my own aspect!) is Pith and Whim. Pith is the core of something (for example, the pith of a fruit) and whim-because who hasn't ever done something on a whim? Pith is then divided into Self and Groove. (We all have our own self and groove) Whim becomes sway and mood, because moods can sway us to act one way or another.
With Mind I agreed with @wakraya in that it was Will and Thought. However for me, Will then becomes Seek and Delve. Thought becomes Plan and Mull. If you notice, I left a tiny reference to Terezi in way of the icons-none of them have open eyes.
Hope, to me, is Yearn and Dare. We all yearn for better things, but only some of us dare to take that first step. Yearn turns into Dream (not dreams like the space aspect pushed too far) but to dream at night and during the day when we want more, and into Grace. This is where I think the whole "physical attraction" part of Hope players comes in. Dare breaks down into Fun and Wish. Yes, this means I believe that Hope is inherently magical, or that magic itself is a part of the Hope aspect. That, or (if you believe that magic is fake like Eridan does) that advanced enough science/technology is indistinguishable from magic.
Rage is broken down into Fume and Shun. Fume (to be angry in silence) turns into Spur and Force. Since Rage is doing the opposite of just Hoping, I feel these subcategories are accurate. Shun turns into Warn (of danger) and Fear (think of the fight or flight or freeze or fawn response in nature. To fawn is when one tries to please in order to mitigate danger.)
This took me about a day to make but I had a bunch of fun doing it and figuring out how to break down each Aspect. Hit me up if you have any questions or comments! (I also want to credit the person behind the original theory, but they aren't on tumblr anymore.)
Ok so me and @queer-chnospinci made a homestuck aspect uquiz thats both meaner than the offical and not based on extensive lore knowledge. Its vibes all the way down

Occasional but inevitable fan-art reblog. I am so predictable. But since I am re-reading this comic⌠Terezi and Vriskaâs dynamic is really wonderful, and the way that it ultimately resolves itself is a fine entry in the classical tragic tradition, by which I mean it feels like it should be satisfying but it also stings horribly and yet you know it couldnât have ended any other way. That in conjunction with Vriskaâs confession to John may be the emotional nadir of the first half of the comic: Nothing resolves happily, and it feels like nothing ever will. And yet you keep reading.
[Sorry for late response! Just so you know, this is all a matter of my opinion, as with anything non-canon.]
Thank you so much!!
Controller classes: Canonically Witch and Heir
Active-Tamer
The Tamer class is in complete control over their aspect.
Passive-Beast
The Beast class is completely controlled by their aspect. [These seem a lot like Lord and Muse, but could work if written well and not overdone.]
Combatant classes: Canonically Knight and Page
Active-Puppet
The Puppet class lets their aspect manipulate them so they can progress.
Passive-Pawn
The Pawn class lets their aspect manipulate them so that others can progress.
[These two are great-- they're perfect active/passive complements.]
Displacer classes: Canonically Thief and Rogue
Active-Patron
The Patron class gives the power of their aspect to others
Passive-Magpie
The Magpie class keeps the power of their aspect for themselves
[These are very similar to Thief and Rogue. That's not a bad thing, but it's up to you to decide if you want that.]
Sabotager classes: Canonically Prince and Bard
Active-Martyr
The Martyr class destroys themselves to strengthen their aspect
Passive-Blacksmith
The Blacksmith class destroys others to strengthen their aspect
[These are really interesting. They're similar enough to Prince and Bard to make sense, but different enough to be original]
Tactician classes: Canonically Mage and Seer
Active- Grifter
The Grifter class changes how others comprehend their aspects Â
Passive-Chef
The Chef class changes how they comprehend their aspects
[Nice, but could be overdone a little bit, so watch out for that.]
Guardian classes: Canonically Maid and Sylph
Active-Veil
The Veil class uses their aspect to hide others
Passive-Mask
The Mask class uses their aspect to hide themselves
[This is good. I like the idea of Light or Void players with these.]
Overall, these are pretty good. I'm not an expert on fan classes (or canon ones, for that matter) but they seem like they work well. I'm not sure about the uses being canon (like tactician or guardian) but that's opinion, again. Last thing is that all canon classes are one syllable. Yours don't have to be, in the same way that people have odd-numbered sessions or non-gendered classes. Hussie basically gave everyone the OK with that. But it's something you can keep in mind.
Could I maybe ask about a Mage of Blood and a Seer of Heart?
Exciting!
Mages are the active equivalent to Seers. Theyâre an understanding class. A Mage of Blood, therefore, is somewhat of a prophet of blood, or, as many people theorize - bonds, friendship, promises and friendship.
A Mage of Blood would be someone capable of seeing and utilizing the bonds between their friends and group members. They would be a vital and very important factor of a session that may otherwise go amiss. They would likely be skilled in telling whose their friend, whose not, who can and canât be trusted - etc. Unlike a Seer, they would be skilled at utilizing this in combat by using their friends and allies. When they ascend, they may likely have visions of future conundrums - as long as they involve other players. For example, they may have visions of one team member going on a murder spree, or have visions of a enemy saving them. Things like that! Itâd be a pretty cool title. For holdable, solid powers - weâve never seen a god tier blood player in action, so weâre not entirely sure. However, I can imagine a powerful mage using LITERAL blood as a weapon. Remember the red miles? It was representative of blood. Maybe something like that!
The seer of heart, meanwhile, might actually end up having fairly similar powers to the Mage of Blood! However, the Seer of Heart is more introspective. They probably know a lot about themselves - their own powers, skills, abilities, and weaknesses. Theyâre less about other people and bonds and more about their own, well⌠soul.
As heart players often have fractures, I can imagine a Seer of Heart knowing their own splinters, their own âsoulâ. They may, with the help of an alchemized item similar to Daveâs turntables (but less instrument-y), be able to actually make splinters of themselves that represent the different parts of their identity. However, they are not likely to use this in combat - seers are passive, and knowledge based. The Seer may use the splinters more to help themselves and gain insight!
However, Seers are not only about themselves. Seers often like to inspect the world around them! A particularly advanced Seer might be able to tell characteristics of a personâs soul just by looking at them. Look at them! Theyâre a Prospit player, a girl, their name is Mary, etc⌠A good Seer might be able to tell if someoneâs in disguise, what their motives are, etcâŚ
Personality wise, the Mage of Blood might be a little unstable emotionally wise, but theyâre generally grounded, have solid ideals, and may actually become frustrated when people disagree with them. They, however, probably care deeply about the people around them.
A Seer of Heart, meanwhile, is knowledgable in their speciality and is likely someone who has a deep understanding of how people work. They might be able to tell how someone is feeling by just a glance or a word. Theyâre probably pretty self-focused, have an internal locus of control (feel they have control over their lives instead of feeling things are random), and may be a little strange in the way they talk to people - too straightforward, sometimes.
The personalities, of course, are my best guesses, and definitely shouldnât be taken too seriously! :)
goddamn i finally finished coat-tier! ăž(@°â˝Â°@)ă*:ăťďžâ§Â sorry for taking forever on this. references should be coming up soon (hopefully)
Could you do Mage of Void? You did a shipping one but I was wondering about it alone.
Sure! Powers: The Mage class isnât quite clear, since weâve seen very little of it in canon. In my opinion, it has to do with unwanted knowledge. So, in other words, the Mage of Void would know about Void without trying to figure out anything about it. This could have to do with obscure things, like seemingly pointless facts, or it could be literal Void, as in the horrorterrors and so on. Theyâd probably be able to communicate with the horrorterrors without going grimdark, although it would be difficult and risky. It is possible that they would go grimdark. They would most likely make a bargain to create the dream bubbles, like Fef did. Otherwise, the Mage would just generally be knowledgeable about unknown yet relevant stuff, without actually knowing how they learned it. They would be interested in the different sides of the Void aspect, though, whether that means dark/ obscure stuff, literal Void space, nothingness, whatever. They might be able to predict the actions of the horrorterrors or something. (This is all very much speculationâ as in more than usualâ since we havenât seen a god tier Mage yet.) Personality: Void players tend to feel almost without personality, so they fill it with a trait to make themselves seem more interesting. (Roxyâs drinking, Equius and the hemospectrum, etc.) So thereâs that. Mages, on the other hand, have a deep connection to their aspect, so it becomes their primary personality. (Sollux writing viruses which doom the universe, Meu and shipping.) So the Mage of Void would hide their Void with⌠more Void. That makes sense. Sort of. Theyâd act sort of obsessive about something obscure, which no one else would really understand. They might have a dark disposition, sort of bored or tired most of the time. They would feel unnoticed, and sort of blend into the background, but not mind it all that much. Or at least, theyâd learn to deal with being considered irrelevant. Their connection to the Void would probably make them be seen as dangerous, especially as they continued to associate with the horrorterrors. So they might not have a great relationship with the rest of the team. They would want to have a close relationship with a select few people, though. They wouldnât have it easy, but they would manage to stay out of the control of the horrorterrors for at least a little while if not forever. Thatâs all I have for now, sorry. Also, Iâm on mobile, so I canât tag this

Oh! Knight and Witch of Rage if you aren't to bisy?
Sure!
Knights are passive exploitation classes. Theyâre also theorized to be âWeaponizersâ - those who use their aspects as weapons. Iâm going to cover the former (exploitation), but if youâd prefer the latter (weaponizing), send me another message!
A Knight of Rage would exploit rage. Rage is all about negative emotions and unwavering belief. Specifically, it represents stagnation and resignation due to the beliefs one holds. A Knight of Rage would exploit belief and resignation and use it for theirs and otherâs benefit. This might be seen as taking advantage of people when they are at their worst states. This is not ALWAYS a bad thing - one may be able to âtake advantageâ of someone by helping them direct those negative emotions towards better goals. Exploitation also means they will simply make full use of rage. This means that this player will likely be able to harness the power of their own and their teammateâs negative emotions to increase their power tenfold.
Currently, little is known about the obvious, physical powers of rage players. (E.X Breath players control the wind, Space players control space⌠there does not seem to be a physical manifestation of rage, and I can not think of an example where it may be used), so I am not sure of what direct powers they may have!
A Witch of Rage may have similar abilities but different ways they use them and different capabilities. While Knights passively exploit, Witches actively manipulate. A Witch of Rage would be able, likely, to affect the levels of anger, negative emotions, or resignation in others. They might be able to manipulate their own levels of negative emotions to INHIBIT themselves or others. This can be useful many ways. For example, a witch may be able to inhibit an enemyâs positive feelings, thus causing them to give up the fight. They may inhibit themselves to give up a dangerous task! Likewise, they may be able to foster negative emotions, which can cause many, many difficulties.Â
I can imagine the Knight of Rage being someone who was somewhat stereotypically stoic. They may be calm in most situations, but have seemingly sudden rage at times they need.Â
Alternatively, I can imagine an underdeveloped or younger Knight of Rage being the opposite - over-emotional, negative, and constantly overwhelmed with anger.
A Witch of Rage might be someone you don't want to mess with. I can imagine them being someone who seems friendly, but secretly harbors a lot of dark feelings.
Witches are an active manipulation and change class. From what we have seen so far, they have an impressive and wide range of abilities. For breath, AKA freedom, choice, goals, frivolity, and detachment.Â
Keeping in mind all active classes are more likely to use their powers for the benefits of themselves, a Witch of Breath is likely someone who manipulates their own freedom, choices, goals, etcâŚ
While this sounds rather dark and strange, in reality, this means the Witch would be very open-minded, goal-orientated and flexible. They would likely have powers that involved manipulating the wind. However, donât go right into imagining Johnâs Windy powers! The Witch would likely not be able to seemingly make stronger, larger winds, but to manipulate the wind that is already there. For example, this player may be able to bend wind to create gusts that lift their enemies off their feet. They may do sillier things, such as created board-less hover boards. They may also redirect objects in the sky, cause storms, allow objects to float, etc. Have you ever seen a youtube video of people in anti-gravity chambers? When an object is dropped, it simply floats. A Witch of Breath may be able to do similar things, but be using wind as opposed to a lack of gravity. These powers have a lot potential, as many things can be affected directly by the wind - imagine blowing a strong wind into a lake! All of the water could be blown out and leave it empty.Â
Personality wise, many of the witches we have seen are goofy and occasionally judgmental, although they usually mean well, but overall kind and responsible. Taking this into account, I can see a Witch of Breath being someone who could be the leader of a team. They are understanding enough to be able to make their friends feel at ease, but have the ability to still maintain a good level of friendliness all around. They might be a little emotionally disconnected, though, and I can imagine that it might be a little strange to their team members - they may take ordinarily dark things lightly (although I somewhat doubt this would be a major occurrence or something that happened with VERY dark things). I think the Witch would be kind, if not a little bossy.
I hope this helped! If you have any further questions, feel free to send them.Â
The Maid of Lightâs role is highly dependent on the playerâs interpretation of the aspect of Light itself. Light in the comic has been associated with multiple areas, currently including knowledge, luck, fortune, and occasionally, with Aranea, healing powers, although the last may be more of a result of her class as a Sylph and light being related to the eyes.
There are many theories about what the Maid does, but the most popular one is âcreateâ. Therefore, the Maid of Light is likely someone who actively creates some combination of luck, fortune, and knowledge. This means the Maid of Light is someone who is able to pull these things from thin air - they may be able to create luck for themselves, have an innate knowledge of things (especially things relating to luck and fortune). If you chose to take light more literally, a Maid of Light may be able to literally create lights, and I can imagine a Maid of Light manifesting solid light beams and using them as weapons, or as tools to blind people. They may also create light for themselves when they need it!
Personality wiseâŚ
The best idea for the personality of a Maid of Light I can think of is somewhat of a benefactor of information and luck. They might be rather criptic with the information they give out, as Maids are more likely to use their powers for themselves, or in ways that benefit themselves. The Maid of Light might perfectly know the outcomes of things, how likely something is to succeed, but I find it hard to imagine them telling someone this information unless they are close to that person or have a particular reason to.
I can also a Maid of Light being rather obsessive and perfectionistic, but also optimistic and sociable nonetheless. They might be someone who delves really, really deep into subjects and finds out EVERYTHING there is to know about it.Â
Thatâs my two cents. If you already have a personality in mind, feel free to ignore the last section. :)

Maid of Breath:Oh, man. I know one of these. (Don't have two Maids clash, it's not pretty.)The Maid of Breath is a pretty cool person. And has pretty good relationships. But sometimes, she gets tired and needs to take a break. Which is cool for some. It just means she has to pick her friends wisely, so she doesn't burn out too fast.Personality-wise, she's very bright and fun to be around. Stubborn as hell, but she won't confront people unless it's absolutely necessary. And even then, it's doubtful. Once she's made up her mind, it likely won't change... except in the few weird cases when it does. She's hard to pin down, since her personality is a little bit all over the place. Anyway, she likes her friendships and relationships to skim the surface and have fun-- she isn't looking for anything deeper in that respect. She does have a way of acting a little bit above anyone she isn't close with, but it tends to be mostly joking. She's big on jokes, by the way. She has a lot of energy, and likes to burn it all out at once.Power-wise, I can think of a few things. She could free herself or others from captivity, heal (to a certain extent-- no resurrection), control wind, take the air from lungs (with enough practice), and point people in the direction she wants them in. (That is, she couldn't control their actions, but she could give them an idea that would set them off. This would probably be unconscious.)So, yeah. That's it. Hope this helped, let me know if there's anything I missed or you want cleared up.
