I am afraid of my own body
And the pressure building between my ears
If at some point my skull explodes
Splitting myself and my headphones into small, grotesque pieces
Do not be surprised

Would it be wrong to point out the cruelty in reserving grace and mercy for those who worship at your feet,
Leaving the rest of us doomed to a fate of endless turmoil for the simple fact that we didn’t bow down soon enough?
(Just a thought)
I have these premonitions of a life of love and joy. But they're just premonitions. And I am just a boy. I tell myself repeatedly that in time there could be more. My eyes drift up to the ceiling, while my feet remain stuck to the floor.
I think I'm going to die
I think I have to die soon,
As in the next few weeks.
I can't envision staying here,
Being this person that can't be me.
Her head is threatening to fall off,
The body is so fucking heavy,
Like I've packed up all my words and choices and carry them here with me.
I think about this on occasion
But not nearly as much as I should,
I might want to plan my funeral soon,
God knows mommy never could
The ache in my stomach is growing
Its cause remaining unknown
I see no way to stop it but digging it out or carving a hole.
tonight there are at least three reasons why I shouldn't be with you
right now I can't remember any of them
all I hear is this song
we meet again
and again and again
I just saw you yesterday
except that was last year
I can’t be sure what you look like anymore
but your face is next to mine, glancing between white snow and brown skin
tracing lyrics on our hands
which clasp tighter with each verse
speakers amplify a moment’s score charged with the feelings we can’t ourselves express
you can’t stop looking at me
and I can’t stop looking away
but we’ll always be together
so I’ll see you again, one day

daddy's girl
you made me this way
why?
so you could feel better about yourself when I turned out to be fucked in the head?
so there'd be one more person in this world who's no match for your intellectual prowess?
does that bring you satisfaction?
setting up arguments you know you'll win
preparing your case before its been brought to court
aren't you bored yet?
of making everyone else feel littler beside you
one day you'll realize playing with dolls doesn't become you
find something new
a hobby
the rest of us did
lightyear
the stars give light lifetimes old
tears descend blindly into future skies
surrendering to beings unknown
the secrets they whisper fall to foreign ears
we bask in a glistening history
it was theirs once
it is ours now
and never will be again
This year I want to focus on understanding myself and a big part of that will be to remove male influence from my life. The male gaze has ruined my self perception and self worth. Half of the things I do I don’t know if it’s for me or for the sake of the approval of unnamed men. I don’t even know if I genuinely am attracted to men but they have been such a driving force in my life since before I can remember so I’m doing myself the service of removing romantic relationships with them all together. I want to see if I learn more about myself when I’m not worried about impressing men (who aren’t even very personally impressive I might add).
to feel anything at all would be better than a free fall. my body hurling and cutting through cold air and i can do nothing but lie there, giving up my agency and letting things happen to me instead of making them happen for me.
shot of espresso
wondering if anyone will ever find me breathtakingly beautiful. if anyone will be so enamored by me that they can't picture a life that i'm not in. if someone will ever need me like they need air or water. i sometimes think i could never be that for someone. their air and their water. no one would ever see me so.. nicely. like that andrew garfield video where he says emma stone is like a shot of espresso. there's nothing particularly pretty or enticing about me. i'm just normal. just a cup of coffee. no shot, no whip.

i'm at this stage where i have no feelings about anything
chapter one of something maybe
He called me again today. I don't know what this new deal is. I spent 7 years pining for this very guy. Dealing with being ignored in the halls and getting weak head nods in groups of our friends. I'd go to high school basketball games that I didn't understand week after week to watch him hold the ball for approximately 4 seconds. Saying hi to his parents and cheering when he got subbed in, just for him to walk right past me with an awkward smile and glance on his way from the locker room to his car. I was used to that. The coldness, or weirdness, or whatever you called it. I'd settled into the one-sidedness of our relationship. In fact, you could say I was almost over it. I haven't been to a basketball game in months. Granted, it's not basketball season, but even if it was I probably wouldn't go. We exist on different planes. Me, a Trader Joe's frequent, listening to French alternative music and reading for fun. He, a college basketball prospect, who plays PS4 and wears exclusively Nike sweats. When I realized this, I realized my idea of us, together, was based on the life I saw for myself a couple years ago, and not the life I'd grown into since. I abandoned any idea of us connecting on any level deeper than "Did you do the homework last night?"
Anyway, that's beside the point. He's been calling me. Like on the phone, facetime, so much, which is so fucking weird. And when he calls me, we actually talk. Like for hours, about real fucking things.
We have the exact relationship I pined for all this time. Minus anything explicitly romantic. We're friends. We talk, on the phone, a lot, which I already said, sorry. And I have to pretend like this is some organic thing that came out of nowhere and we're just seeing where it goes.
The thing is I'm just really fucking confused, refer back to the whole different planes of existence train of thought. It would be different if I was putting in the usual level of high school crush effort to present to him a more palatable and compatible version of myself. But because of the aforementioned train of thought, I never saw any reason to do so. I have been completely and 100% my authentic, slightly unhinged, extremely unique self in hours of conversations with this guy. Every time we say goodbye, and I'm sure he's realized how incompatible we must be, he just calls again the next week. Rinse and repeat. I'm starting to think the guy has short term memory loss.
currently writing a script for a video about how i attribute mark zuckerberg for all of my unhappiness.
I've completed my first semester of college. It's kind of a big feat. It feels so nonchalant, but like most things, I have to remind myself to be happy. I should be proud of myself. I moved across the country and started a new life. I took college courses with college professors and tackled my first real finals week. I might even finish off with a 4.0, yet I feel nothing, for the whole experience. The past four months simply a trip too long, like a minor inconvenience in my life that will be over when I go home tomorrow. But it's not a trip, and it's not insignificant. This is my life now, as unfortunate as that may be.

I just hate the way I look. I hate that all of these new people are perceiving me in this form and will always connect this body and this face and these clothes to me and who I am as a person. I hate that I have these huge fucking boobs and can’t stop gaining weight. I hate that my hair is short and hot pink but never looks like the kind of short and hot pink I wanted it to look like. I hate that I have no tattoos and no piercings but I’m too scared to get any. I hate the way this body makes all of my clothes ugly, but I keep buying more, just to hate myself even more when I try them on.
eye doctor
i have been squinting a lot more than usual. taking an extra few seconds to discern what's in front of me. it's really inconvenient that whatever this is is happening now, as i move to a new city with a new school and all new people. I think I'm easily identifiable. people wave hello to my bright pink head and 4 inch platforms from yards away, but then i'm stuck, squinting and head tilting, closing the distance between us until we're face to face and I can finally focus again. i sometimes wonder if this isn't new. if i never could see as well as i thought i could, but i'd memorized the identifiers of the people who'd been in my life for some 18 years. i knew maiya's curly pink tendrils and stanley's long bare legs. I knew how people walked and talked and approached me every time. maybe my 20/20 was an illusion, and i just got really good at being aware of my surroundings, and now those surroundings have been replaced. i kinda like the surprise. it's like things aren't as predictable and people aren't so uniform. when i can't figure out who's in front of me it reminds me that i'm here, somewhere fresh and with so much more to figure out. these people will be around for 4 more years, and maybe one day i won't have to squint so much to see them.
