Jake couldn’t help but smile. “Managed to wait five weeks, didn’t I?”

“Cruel.”

Chad's only been a complete gentleman, but that doesn’t mean he's who I wanted to spend my vacation with. It’s only fair you learn a thing or two about patience, too.

Jake let out a small laugh. “Yeah, sure thing, Princess.”

Now you don’t get another one of those until I feel like it.

“You mean when you were convinced about Chad?”

That’s exactly when.

“Good.”

You should have made the first move weeks ago in confessional. Be a man, Jake.

“You get to go out at all?”

“Nah. She’s great, but we’re just friends. You and Chad?”

We aren’t.

“That’s for sure. What’d they have for us to do around here?”

It was so boring the first two weeks, but with Tilly and Bailey here, we’re able to go have brunch. Other than that-- Are you and Summer a thing now?

“Huh,” Jake looked around. “They definitely pulled the short straw.”

Now they do. We both aren’t there.

“Smart, get your designs out there without paying to promote them.” 

If at least a few people don’t ask who the designer is, then the people of this state really do have no taste.

“Then I can’t wait to see which one you pick.”

“Count yourself lucky.”

“Good point. Though I’m sure you’re just as beautiful bloated.”

“Fruit and toast? Or a ham omelette?” 

No more than two eggs. I’d hate to start the day bloated.

“I’m sure we’ll get used to having our own internal alarm clocks again. Want to grab breakfast?”

We can start with something light, sure.

“Morning, beautiful. Got to say it’s better waking up away from that house.” 

It was peaceful, but a little alarming not to hear so much racket.
