I guess for me it's less "this is going to be the tipping point in rpf fans harassing real people" and more like. I think it's so navel-gazing to write a book where your hobby changes lives. Like, is the fantasy that you're a hockey player who falls in love with his teammate, or is the fantasy that you're an rpf writer with such powers of perception and romance that you help some guys come out. Which I guess is fine. There are worse fantasies. This doesn't matter. Let's write a play about being backstage during a play.
