Dear Diary

I had a really good talk with Mom today, after we dropped Ricky off at his house. We talked about Warren, and how it’s really beautiful how he sees the world. And then we talked about our day. It was really nice… I was able to relate to her and talk to her in a way that I haven’t been able to do in a looong time. It felt like old times again. J I felt like myself again, FEEL like myself again. I feel like my compassionate, peaceful, loving self again. I haven’t felt like that in a long time. My depression has had such a terrible hold on me. It’s really nice to have this break. God answered my prayer. ^_^

Ricky prayed for me today, during quiet time. We read 1 Corinthians 12 and 13 today, which talked about the body of Christ, and love. Chapter 12 talked about how, even if you feel unimportant because you can’t do something someone else can, that doesn’t mean you’re unimportant. It also doesn’t make what you CAN do any LESS important. God values you just as much as He values the other person, regardless of the difference in talent, intelligence or whatever else it might be. That was really encouraging, because I always compare myself to others, and my life to other people’s lives. I always think “If only I could do ___,” or “If only I didn’t have ___” when really, my life is just as beautiful, and just as amazing as the lives of the people around me. ^_^ :D 1 Corinthians 13 reminded me that, no matter what you may have, or might be able to do, if you don’t have love it’s pointless. Above all else LOVE is important. God is Love for a reason, it’s the most powerful thing in the universe. It’s what caused salvation to exist, it’s what gives us meaning and purpose, and it’s what allows us to have a closeness with God. That is SO BEAUTIFUL! :D It reminds me of the song:

“What can wash away my sin? Nothing but the Blood of Jesus.”

The “Blood of Jesus” is another form of Love. What washes away our sins, is love. Cx That’s such a wonderful thing. Thank you God, for loving me and caring about me, even when I don’t do the same for you or for me or for the others around me.

Note: I was writing this as I was watching it. This is a movie we had to watch in History class, so I decided to write an article on my reaction. I was really touched by this movie, and it was rather difficult for me to watch because of the content. But I hope it gives you some food for thought, and some inspiration.

     "As I'm watching this, shivers are sent down my spine. Fear clutches my body. the reason this affects me so is because it actually happened and is still going on. Genocide is actually happening at this moment. And yet here we are, living our normal, daily lives as if nothing were wrong. How can we be so ignorant? How can we not care? How can we be here, focusing on our own, petty problems, when people are dying at this very moment?

     As I look around the room, I see students chatting, eating snacks, totally unaffected by the horrors shown on that screen. How is that possible? Why are they not breaking down in their seats, trying to figure out a way to prevent things like this, and help the people going through it? Because we always have the power to help.
