Hi all! I just wanted to post a quick plug for my Ko-fi, haha. XD

Anyway, just in case ye're interested, monthly supporters get regular looks at my sketchbook! (some pages aren't as nice though, and some are nicer!)

Someone asked for pointers for how I did the fire effect on fakemon, so I threw together a quick little tutorial on it as well as how to get the watercolour paper / scan lines effect!

Here are the final evolutions!

Pokedex entries:

Cupollain (Cú [hound], CuChulainn, pollen) Grass/Fairy

Cupollain are intensely kind and loyal pokemon, living long lives and becoming very wise. These gentle creatures use the fragrant pollen from their flowered coats to ease the worries of both people and pokemon, and their quiet strength bring peace to volatile places.

It is wise not to play with small balls around these pokemon as they’ll want to play, often getting them lodged in their large throats.

Taravage (tarbh [bull], ravage) Fire/Dark

Never let it be said that anyone who manages a Taravage on their team isn’t a brave trainer. These pokemon have explosive tempers, and their blazing rages put even a Primeape to shame.

That being said, once you’ve earned a Taravage’s respect, no opponent will stand a chance.

Alirical (eala [swan], king lir, lyrical) Water/Flying

Alirical are the pokemon of choice for anyone engaged in the musical arts. Not only does this pokemon enchant all who hear its voice, but it strums the feathers on its wings for a captivating, harp-like accompaniment.

It’s said that any hapless individual who hears the aria of a wild Alirical will enter a trance-like state, and will walk into the depths of the closest lake, never to be heard from again.

First set of evolutions!

Pokedex Entries:

Bogma (dogma, bogman)

- Grass / Fairy

Bogma carry on the friendly disposition of their pre-evolution, Woodwuff. They're often used for their keen noses to sniff out buried items in marshland and boggy areas.

They smell the scent of other fairies on the air of these bogs and excitedly follow them, sometimes only for their clueless trainer to also follow and sink into the soft ground...

Taraze ('tarbh' [bull], raze)

- Fire

Taraze can get so unruly that many young trainers often find they can't keep up, and many of this pokemon get abandoned as a result. This only fosters their innate rage, and groups of Taraze will tear through small towns and villages, burning anything they can.

A trainer that can help Taraze regulate their temper will gain a solid and devoted friend.

Alalody ('eala' [swan], melody)

- Water / Flying

If someone wanders by the scenic lakes and rivers of Balladree, they may hear the hauntingly beautiful songs of an Alalody in the air.

This pokemon is still shy, but its love of singing pushes it to perform, and all who hear it report feeling bittersweet emotions.

Meet Winnie! The player character's best friend, and daughter to an esteemed gym leader.

Her dream is to become a Pokemon professor one day, so she's currently interning with Professors Oake and Hawthorn, working as the lab aide. One of her jobs is to evaluate your pokedex!

Though battling isn't her forte, she's not bad at it. It mainly becomes a way for her to take notes on how the pokemon move or interact, and her partner pokemon (that I haven't designed yet XD ) is her ride-or-die.

Here are the starters! I'm still refining my backgrounds, so it might be a bit messy still. But I'll get there!

They're each based on an important animal in Irish mythology, so the Wolfhound, the Bull, and the Swan.

Pokedex Entries:

Woodwuff ('woodruff', 'woof')

Woodwuff is oftern referred to as the 'perfect' starter pokemon; it's always cheerful, playful, and easy to raise. Its coat is soft like moss.

When Woodwuff molts, the loosened 'fur' makes excellent fertiliser.

Booley ('bull', 'bully', Cattle Raid of Cooley)

Despite its sweet looks, Booley loves aggravating its peers and challenging them to fights. Only a strong-willed trainer can keep it in check.

Alilting ('eala' [swan], 'lilting', 'a lil ting')

Alilting are desperately shy, but are eager to make great friends with their trainers. They're quiet in company, but when alone they will softly lilt sweet songs they heard from their parents.
