Happy Thanksgiving from Dante and Bella!
I did this last year and thought it was a great time to share it again ;-) Â
A couple more pieces about los mangueros in MazatlĂĄn. đĽđ¨

EL MANGUERO
One of my very favorite experiences from my recent visit to MazatlĂĄn was buying mangos from the manguero. I love that in Mexico, the snacks come to you on the beach! The manguero sells mangos on a stick with chili, lime and chamoy. Iâve never had better mangos in my life. So the next time youâre in MazatlĂĄn, donât be afraid to flag down the manguero when he comes your way.
EL TORERO
I have a book called Hemingwayâs Spain that has some amazing photos of matadors and toreros. Iâm not a fan of the actual sport but the way the toreros move is really beautiful. I really liked the shapes and forms they make and Iâve been trying to practice putting more interesting shapes and gestures into my figure drawing.

I was annoyed when I first drew this. I donât remember about what.

I made some Turning Red fan art. Hereâs my panda!
Hi ! Iâve been posting small speed paints to tiktok and noticed I had color picked from your baby yoda drawings and they show up in the speed paints. I credited your twitter on the post but thought I should ask if itâs okay to keep up. Iâm not popular or anything but donât want to have your art posted somewhere else if you donât want to !
I Hi! Thank you for letting me know. Thatâs fine if they show up in your speed paint if you credit me. Thanks again go bring so considerate.
TURT ALERT! Iâve always loved drawing and painting turtles. During quarantine Iâve been visiting a little pond thatâs full of the most adorable slider turtles. Here are a few that I sketched in my sketchbook with a splash of digital color. đđ˘
Yes, I jumped on the bandwagon! I wanted to see what baby yoda would look like as a Chuck Jones character. Here is my contribution to the phenomenon that is Baby Yoda.

Of course I canât make a post about a visit to Mexico without talking about the FOOD! Comida tapatĂa estĂĄ increĂble! I dream about the bread there and I ate my favorite: birote salado, as well as trying pan de muerto for the first time (delicious), churros, alfajores and paĂąalito <3. We also went to my favorite brunch spot La CafeterĂa for chilaquiles rancheros, and to 1000 Caguamas for beer and the best aguachile! I also at a torta ahogada en bolsa which Iâm told is a super tapatĂo thing to do. All in all everything was delicious, no surprise there!
The past couple of weeks I was in Mexico visiting my boyfriend. Since it fell right at DĂa De Muertos I thought it would be fun to draw us as calaveras during some of our adventures! From going to Punta Mita, watching an Atlas match en Estadio Jalisco, and dancing almost every night. It was a trip full of fun and the magic of Jalisco Mexico (and Nayarit ;-) ).Â
